Released via Game Informer, the screens depict scenes of a ruined Sera overrun by the lambent menace. The shots also show newcomers Anya and Jace in action, Marcus unleashing a new kick melee attack, the multi-turret weapon, the tough Silverback mech kerb-stomping a Locust grunt and some of the lethal new enemies the remaining ex-COG members will have to face when the game launches next year.

Well.. The world's been destroyed and all that's left is ruins. So.. Yeah. It would look grey and brown.

the hammer of down strikes turned everything into Ash, you were most likely look at Char - Ground Zero.

Thats two more colors than gears 1&2 had.

Gears of War wasn't meant to be a really colorful game.. after all it's pretty much on a devastated planet, where weapons turned cities to ash. Pretty much Armageddon. So you can't really expect a Armageddon scenario to be pretty colorful except with flames, blood, guts and ash and dark skies.

Yeah. It also annoys me when people say "Urrrgh. Gears is just a steroid ring."

Well.. Yeah. The Locust are trained to their limits to be elite soldiers. They're obviously going to huge.

And the CoG? They were heavy armour all the time. They need to be big to carry it. And plus, It's only Marcus, Dom and Cole that are actually big. Carmine, Baird and the other random soldiers aren't really muscley.
