But you wouldn't because it's important to hear what he says...

Good point
Plus you could more easily hit escape and miss what they were saying or have someone talk over the dialog :yammer::realmad:

Re: no cutscenes are they mad?

cutscenes are great depending on how you use them i like a couple but in KH2 it killed me having a video at the entrance of every level. However cutscenes can be nice on occasion. Also in some instances cutscenes explain whats about to happen say you were ambushed in a cutscene it might be a little more understandable and detailed but if you were ambushed just out of nowhere in gameplay you might not understand whats going on.

Re: no cutscenes are they mad?

In Oblivion, the only thing that comes close to cutscenes is when something significant happens in the story and the players feet are frozen on the spot, but you can still look around. That helps remove alot of the detachment from the story you would have if you had no control whatsoever, and it's a bloody good game too. I think thats the way to go in Fable 2

Re: no cutscenes are they mad?

To be honest, I've not read a single reply to this thread, but I want to add my opinion anyway:

No, it won't suck. A cutscene is basicly a short movie clip where you get, most often, some important info about the story or perhaps the introduction to a quest. Now, I assume they animate the NPCs so that they act like within a cutscene but in the real game.

So if the NPC starts acting like it would during a cutscene but you're still in control of your character, that'd be cool. So what if you leave the NPC alone, or kill it during the "cutscene"? Well too bad, for each action, a consequence: You lost the chance to hear what this NPC had to tell you.

You can shut the guild master off. O.o

Re: no cutscenes are they mad?

I agree that no cutscenes probably won't hurt the game in any way. They'll still get the sequences in.

Plus, I mean, if the game really does end up with co-op, would you want someone in a completely different section of the world to trigger a cutscene that doesn't remotely apply to you?

Re: no cutscenes are they mad?

normaly you'ed be next to that person and it would be from your (first player) perspective..KOTOR style and halo style lol

Re: no cutscenes are they mad?

Mm, cut-scenes aren't all that bad, i like 'em. They tend to help bring a deeper feeling to the story sometimes. Personally, i wouldn't mind if it had cutscenes, cause i sometimes like to just sit back, and absorb what's going on around me without having to get physically involved. :ninja:

Course, even if it doesn't have any cut-scenes, no big deal..as long as the dialog is entertaining & interesting, then that's good enough for me. ;)

Re: no cutscenes are they mad?

I think its a great idea because there trying to make it more interactive and in my opinion thats great.

Re: no cutscenes are they mad?

but how the implement that is really cruecal (i cant spell)

Re: no cutscenes are they mad?

Wow, some of you guys are getting really worked up over this, huh? lol

To be honest, the idea of Fable 2 not having cutscenes both interests, and somewhat frightens me. I mean, nobody really knows what it's going to be like, right?

I fear the unknown. O.o  j/k

The industry needed to find new alternatives to existing, outmoded storytelling techniques, said Mr Molyneux, whose firm is working on the sequel to its award winning role-playing title Fable...Mr Molyneux said they were "tragic moments in gameplay because gamers' patience and tolerance for cut scenes are measured in seconds".
Research shows that many gamers skip cut scenes, preferring to get straight back into the action, he said.
