NO fate cards, Hobbe, or nice box!!

We are happy to announce the Fable II game is in manufacturing and confirmed for Oct-21 in North America and Asia, Oct-24 for Europe.
However, due to supply chain issues, we are revising the Fable II Limited Collector’s Edition and the estimated retail price will be reduced from $79.99 to $69.99* USD in North America or as applicable in your market. *These are estimated retail prices; actual retail prices may vary worldwide.
The premium box, five printed fate cards, and Hobbe figure will not be available as part of the Limited Collector’s Edition. We apologize for any inconvenience.
The Fable II Limited Collector’s Edition will now include the following content at this discounted price:
  • Fable II game disc
  • Bonus DVD with new ‘Making-of’ Feature
  • Bonus in-game content (requires Xbox LIVE®)
    • ‘The Hall of the Dead’ Dungeon
    • ‘The Wreckager’ Legendary Cutlass Weapon
    • Spartan armor and energy sword
To further show our commitment to the faithful fans, we have created a special Fable album for free download for a limited time! This includes a wonderful selection of Fable 1 music and 3 brand new tracks from the upcoming Fable II soundtrack.
Go to http://www.sumthingdigital.com, and enter “FableCollection” promotion code. This will be available beginning October 6, 2008 @ 9am PST.

Well thats just ****ed me right off cause Im not gonna get any real price cut cause Im only paying a little more than what you would for standard. Also why dont it mention a UK/Europe or any other area price cut!

Re: NO fate cards, Hobbe, or nice box!!

Words can not describe the immense disappointment I feel now that I'm not gonna get a Hobbe figure to go with my Big Daddy from Bioshock....

Re: NO fate cards, Hobbe, or nice box!!

Didn't really care about a plastic figure and some cards....
All I want is the exclusive in-game content!!

Glad they lowered the price!

I suppose an in-game dungeon is fine, too. But with these figures I can play with them like a kid again, yet not be embarrassed - they are priced collector's items, not friggin' toys..

*Fiddles about with his Big Daddy figure*

Yeah, go get that Splicer, Mr Bubbles... teehehehe...

Re: NO fate cards, Hobbe, or nice box!!

Hmm well, the Halo 3 Legendary edition was pretty sweet, tons of making of, and even all the cut scenes from Halo 1+2. Gwaaahhh..... drewl....

Re: NO fate cards, Hobbe, or nice box!!

Didn't much care for that one, to be honest. The Helmet wasn't my cup of tea, and the weight made the shipping cost sky-rocket.

Re: NO fate cards, Hobbe, or nice box!!

oh that is so not cool. :getlost: hope its not true.

Re: NO fate cards, Hobbe, or nice box!!

Now I won't say this is a grim event. At first, I cared deeply for my little hobbe and my fate cards (which I wanted to post up in my room). But in the end, all that really matters is my game. I still get my extra content and DVD. So, it could have been much worse.

Alright, I must admit, I really wanted that hobbe. It would of triggered that kiddish side of me once again  So lets not blame anyone, because the stab has already been dealt...but yeah, still a bit of a bummer.

Re: NO fate cards, Hobbe, or nice box!!

WOW WTF I ALREADY PRE-ORDERED THE LEGENDARY EDITION! Soooo this is some f-ed up BS.
They are charging 10 bucks for a few pieces of online gear now? I mean honestly, honestly.....honestly. I want my f%$#@!& hobbe. O and btw whats your source?

What happened? Did the factory explode or something? It seems like there may have been a problem in the manufacturing end of the game.

Re: NO fate cards, Hobbe, or nice box!!

Here's a repost of what I put at Lionhead
I'm a bit confused how can you have supply chain issues with a limited edition product? If it's limited then that means that there isn't enough for everyone.

Microsoft should have just come up with a third SKU and called it something like the "Special Edition" that didn't have those items but still had the exclusive content and made it 69.99. Shops would have to figure out who gets the limited edition based on who pre-ordered them probably by date and who was there upon release.

So image 200 Fable fans waiting in line at 11:55 pm. An employee registers names and pre-order dates on a laptop for all 200 since they only have say 25 the first 25 that got the preorder would get one and the rest could get the new item at $10 cheaper. Some people would choose the "Special Edition" over the Limited Edition anyway. All in all it would look like Microsoft and Lionhead were adding an option rather than taking something away from fans.

I bet making this post felt like throwing a match at a swimming full of gasoline. Thanks for the update Sam.

I wonder if the Qee Hobbe was made. There's nothing on their site about it
