NOT THE SAME GAME-GENRE AS BEFORE!!!

I have just been flicking through the site and found out that the new fable is not the same Game-genre as before !!! I can't belive it this is horrible I can't belive it I hope this was just a rumour that turns out not to be true otherwise... i don't know what but I'm VERY ANGRY !!!:realmad: :'(

SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME THIS ISN'T TRUE (AND MEAN IT !!!)

Re: NOT THE SAME GAME-GENRE AS BEFORE!!!

Where does it say that? Link please.

Also, I doubt it wouldn't be the same genre, otherwise they would lose a LOT of their buyers.

Re: NOT THE SAME GAME-GENRE AS BEFORE!!!

Re: NOT THE SAME GAME-GENRE AS BEFORE!!!

You mean where Molyneux states Fable III isn't an RPG anymore? He was basically speaking in a philosophical sense, it's still an RPG.

Re: NOT THE SAME GAME-GENRE AS BEFORE!!!

LOOK! All Peter said was that he was changing a few aspects.

"Molyneux has promised to remove a traditional RPG mechanic from Fable III, the emphasis being on removing "clunkiness" and making the game more accessible. At Microsoft's X10 event in San Francisco, he revealed that the traditional health bar, the experience points system for levelling up, and the HUD in general, would be removed. The game also introduces two related systems known as "Expression Touch" and "Dynamic Touch". Expression Touch turns romantic relationships into a subtle journey that involves the player and their chosen partner becoming physically closer, rather than using the simplistic Expressions of the first two games. The system also applies to general interaction, such as embracing the player character's family or refusing to shake someone's hand."

This is all from http://fable.wikia.com/wiki/Fable_3

In simplier words you can still change your clothes, hair, weapons, just no leveling up or health bar

Re: NOT THE SAME GAME-GENRE AS BEFORE!!!

the change from Fable1/tlc to fable 2 was huge for me
when i saw the guns i was so ****ed
"WTF!!?? GUNS!!??"
then no armour
"OMGWTF NO ARMOUR!!??"

but i got over it and it turned out to be an awesome game, really diffrent from the first but still a god game

Re: NOT THE SAME GAME-GENRE AS BEFORE!!!

Despite what PM says, it will still be an RPG (he's even said so). He just want's it to transcend genre's, and make his game sound cool, so he's trying to set it apart from the rest.

Sometimes, I wonder what he's thinking.

Re: NOT THE SAME GAME-GENRE AS BEFORE!!!

I think its just that PM says he no longer considers Fable to be and rpg series. I don't think the game style will be that much different from Fable II, it just wont be classified as an rpg, so its ok.

Action adventure you think?

Re: NOT THE SAME GAME-GENRE AS BEFORE!!!

It will be an RPG. It will just be more than an RPG at the same time.

Re: NOT THE SAME GAME-GENRE AS BEFORE!!!

Lionhead said we wouldn't classify his series as an RPG anymore, and more of an Action Adventure once you own your kingdom. I think it will be awesome. :P

YES! Someone who understands!

Re: NOT THE SAME GAME-GENRE AS BEFORE!!!

I think its just Peter Molyneux trying to be unique and different. He doesn't want to be categorized.
