Okay, look, I only logged on for a minute to download and see what it was like. I haven't even played a game yet since the update and I'm about to go to bed, just wanted to browse it you know.
Here's my question, am I seriously the only person who thinks it is retarded?
Am I?
Seriously, I'm not well versed on NXE or all its features, from what I can tell those who like movies will be happy for the netflix thing, or what have you...so look I'm not COMPLETELY bashing it just yet. BUT IT IS SO $%$%$%$@%%$%$%$ UGLY.

I'm not trying to whine I simply want to know if anyone else thinks that it is lame at first glance. Wtf is up with the avatars? Seriously, what the heck? I don't like Microsoft anyway - boycott their computers, only like the 360..now they go and add kiddy avatars.

Hopefully I'll like it once I truly play with it some...my mind is open to it. All I'm saying is first impression = wtf / why so kiddy / why mandatory. Maybe second impression will be something like = avatars are overlookable (I will never like them though) / new features like community games are cool / guide button seems cool / transitions seem better.

Thoughts?

:O I never thought of that. I wonder how they will keep rental games from being installed, and thus getting a free game. Got to be a limitation.

The disc needs to be in for it to work. The idea is no load-up time nor spinning disc noise. It just checks to see if the media is there, then plays from the hard drive.

I'm guessing that all it takes is a cracked xex to circumvent this, much like a No-CD exe crack for the PC version of Fable. But I won't go into that. :ninja:

So less wear & tear on the system, maybe, with less spinning discs? Nice :ninja:

I didnt think i would like it and have always been 'Meh' on the whole avatar system but i actually quite like the NXE. Its well organised, everything is easily accessible (when you learn where everything is) and the new features are excellent.

i love people that bash microsoft. I find it deeply amusing really so you'd like the WHOLE world to run off apple kit? or some free stuff knocked up by a linux dev team? i'd rather stick with the devil i know thanks believe me I work with MS stuff all day everyday some of there stuff is pretty damn clever. As for the NXE i quite like it really a bit "kiddy" but the layouts good.

^I don't want the whole world to run off apple, and I wasn't bashing Microsoft. For the record I'd rather Apple use stay low. I like being in the minority. Sorry if it seemed like I was bashing MS and I never meant to imply MS is stupid - I know they're very smart and the computers are good..I just don't like them and I love Mac, that's just me.

ANYWAY back on topic, I just wanted to let people know that after playing around I do like the NXE..I love it actually. The avatars are the only thing I DON'T like but I never even see them so they don't bother me. Installing to the hard drive = AWESOME! ^_^ I think NXE is a big improvement...so yeah just wanted to clear that up

I like the NXE. I thought it gave the 360 an updated, fresher look. I haven't tried running the game into the hard drive yet, so I can't comment on that.

As far as the avatars, I really like 'em! Guess you can say that I'm into that cute, cartoony stuff.

I like the install to hard drive mechanic. The wear and tear on the XBox is greatly reduced.
