Oblivion.

Anyways, I had an odd sort of.... well I want to say epiphany. anyway, I don't know why, but oblivion and the elder scrolls series or anything else by Bethesda really never clicked with me. so, I want you guys/gals to make up your own pros/cons list about oblivion and post it, and I can maybe come up with a reason why. These are to be personal oppinions and no fanboy crap like saying "oblivion is perfect it rox!" sh!t! I want to know why it rocks and where you think it could improve

My list:

Pros:
long, great storyline.
good graphics for the time.
Big world
lots of wildlife and stuff to do.
Good leveling system.

Cons:
Too many dungeons/caves
The characters are ugly unless you spent a frikin eternity on it!
The skin of humanesque species makes them look like oily burn victims. (albiet minor burns, but still enough to leave marks.)
Crappy 3rd person
crappy grab (when you grab and drag/move items in game)
Too difficult to locate individual buildings.
horrid map system.
horrid voice acting
horrid animation

Re: Oblivion.

Pros:
Good Graphics (According to the time period)
Good-sized world
Great modders resource
Unique leveling and combat system
If you take time amazing character looks
Classes AND Archetypes.
Plenty of things to do
Great Storyline

Cons:
Bad Voice Acting.
Bad Animation
Crappy Third Person

Oblivion gets a 9.7/10 on my list.

Re: Oblivion.

Pros:
5 quest lines you can choose to do in any order
expansive world, but with no obligation to explore it entirely
expansive magic system (including the ability to create your own spells)
great weapon system (you can enchant a weapon however you want and rename it)
comes the closest out of any game made thus far to defining "ultimate freedom"
10 hours worth of side quests if you ever get bored

Cons:
no party/multiplayer system
voice acting
somewhat choppy graphics
takes a long time to understand the games in-depth leveling and magic systems (which are explained, but you need some time to be familiarized)

now that i've sat down and done that for you james, hear me out. yes, oblivion is a great game. yes, it won game of the year. yes, it's given many-a-gamer a boner since it came out. but if you want to get into oblivion, you have to just sit down with it and see what you think. give it a few hours. this whole "pro/con" thing really isn't going to get you anywhere because 99% of the people here will say the same thing.
go out, invest $20.00, and form your own opinion. if you've played fallout 3 you should be able to understand how it works pretty quickly.

I have owned the game for 2 years.... beaten it once, and a guild and a few side quests, it just got boring really quickly.

Can't really blame you, you either love this game or it is just meh.

I love it though, but it does get boring pretty fast.

Unless you glitch and spawn like a bajillion watermelons 'n stuff.

Re: Oblivion.

Honestly i got the game and i loved it. But the best part was the whole modding.. Well all i did was just give my self every best weapon lol.
But it was still fun. And you can wear hooded robes!

Re: Oblivion.

I milked Oblivion. 1250/1250 gamerscore. The only game where I have all the achievements.

I loved it. Got around 300 hours from it. I can't play it much now though. Can't play it for more than an hour or so without getting bored.

Re: Oblivion.

Hmm... I accept your challenge, sir!

Pros:

Huuuuuuge world. Love that.
Great mythos. Love the setting. Particularly Morrowind.

Cons:

Combat system needs heaps of improvement.
The... errr... walking around system needs heaps of improvement. Make it less robotic. Having one jump animation for when you're standing still is fine, but when I'm running, and I jump I'd like a different animation. Not that it really matters in first person, though.
Not enough interesting/convoluted/mind**** quest lines.

Re: Oblivion.

Pro: Just about everything mentioned.

Con: Just about everything mentioned, AAAAND the fact that even if noone sees you killing a guard you still get a bounty. Wtf?
