Playground Games officially released a new teaser trailer at the Xbox Games Showcase earlier starring Richard Ayoade. Good to see the humour showcased as well as the impressive visual style.

It LOOKS good but I am worried they are trying too hard for the humor.

I would also bet dollars to donuts that none of the stuff in it is relevant to the plot of the actual game.

Probably a Jack & The Beanstalk themed sidequest I'm thinking.

I reckon it looks very promising and we should really hold onto our opinions until we see proper gameplay. Which we probably won't get until next year. 2025 release...maybe.

Sidenote: we should probably drop the 2022 part from this lol

Looked like Greatwood with Bowerstone in the distance. I love to see villagers and bandits again

Hi i'm new to this thread, is anyone else as scared as i am that playground will ruin the spirit of the original games without lionhead?

Nah, I'm not worried. The spirit of the game has a lot to do with the British humour and this humour wasn't solely something acheivable by Lionhead. Playground Games are a British studio that have numerous British people on staff.

I know PG are mostly known for car games but trying something new for the first time isn't always a bad thing. Bethesda used to make football and hockey games before they started making the Elder Scrolls and we know how that went.

I have a feeling it will be very American and commercialised - however i have faith in the engine, i think the mechanics will be amazing. Hoping for some more intricate fighting.

The development team are a British studio as has been mentioned and also compromised of some of the original team too. Amie Loake for example is the former producer at Lionhead Studios.

It will be updated for a more modern audience of course, as games have come a long way in the 13 years since Fable 3 released but seems (based on the look and the tone of the trailer) that they are on the right track.

It didn’t quite have that Fable “feel” for me but it did have a bit of humour in which I enjoyed and I’m still hopeful that we will see more promising stuff from this game in the future.

Yeah I was getting the same feeling as well, especially since it was done in the style of a mockumentary. We could be pleasantly wrong though, gotta wait and see. I do like the bit of dry, British humor we've seen so far and in keeping in line with the originals, which is in stark contrast to the humor Playground Games is known for in their Forza games. The mainstream humor in the Forza Horizon games is pretty high on the cringe scale, so I'm surprised that the stuff in this trailer was honestly quite funny.

I imagine the humour was slightly more exaggerated for trailer purposes just to show that they have not forgotten the games roots and tongue in cheek style.
