in recent news, the majority of Cincinnati Bengals fans destroyed their season tickets in frustration due to lack of victories and an apathetic management. one of the lowest moments in NFL history since the Philadelphia Eagles recruited a quarterback who had been suspended for dog fighting.
and people wonder why i don't care about (american) football.
i moved from Philadelphia to Cincinnati about a year ago...
writers for drama tv series couldn't come up with this stuff, seriously.
oh, right.
cool victory, bro.
Hide your beagle, Vick's (still) an Eagle.
I'm sorry that you're a Cincinnati fan, though.
Once, long ago, there were two football leagues in the United States. National Football League and American Football League. They had mostly the same rules, and didn't play each other. Then, at some point, they started playing a game, the American league champ versus the National League champ, called the Super Bowl. At some point, they said **** it, and merged. NFC and AFC still don't play each other for the most part, except for preseason, postseason, and occasional special games during the season.
So the "National Football League" contains the "National Football Conference" and the "American Football Conference."
HAIL TO THE POTATO SKINS!
Am I doing it right?
Close enough. At least then we wouldn't be dealing with the racism.
When the 'skins win the Super Bowl I'll shave my chest and paint the team logo on it. Not that I have to worry because that's never going to happen. Regardless, I'm glad you're excited.
Dear sir: I am writing that down in my little notebook. Even if it is sixty years from now, I will hunt you down when the 'Skins get their Super Bowl rings and make damn sure you do this.
For added fun, you can then march through the streets of Dallas at the head of the band and the cheerleaders, with Hail to the Redskins blaring the whole way.
The reason American football is called football is because it evolved from European football with the inclusion of hands into the mix. Changed the rules up over time, and then went from European football, to rugby, to American football which is what we have today. Thing is, nobody bothered to change the name to something else during all of that, so it stuck.. and it's going to remain that way.
I thought that it actually evolved straight from rugby? Obviously, rugby evolved from soccer... kinda? I thought they were almost co-developed.
