Plains, Trains, and Automobiles.

Any word on transportation in the game. i seen the stage coach in the vid, and was wondering. That would be kinda cool to drive a stage coach, hell to even have that as a mode of trans only to ride in. And there are possibly ships/boats. I wonder what else. A horse would be cool. With or with out mounted combat. But one thing that would be finda fun and funny, would be a bike. Not a normal bike but a bike like they had at the time of stagecoaches. The big front wheel and small back one. That wouldcrack me up. My hero in his dark heavy armour wih a huge evil sword on his back, 9 inch horns and flies buzzing around him, on that kind of bike. Classic.:w00t: :w00t: :w00t:  :w00t: . But on a serious note. Has any one heard rumors or factual things about trans?

Re: Plains, Trains, and Automobiles.

I actually think that the old bike idea would work well but I haven't heard anything on the transport system if there is one in Fable 2.

Re: Plains, Trains, and Automobiles.

I think MAYBE trains would be in the game. but looking at some of the Town of Bowerstone, I see a lot of horse drawn carriage type things so I don't think a lot of automobiles will be in fable 2.

Re: Plains, Trains, and Automobiles.

I don't think trains or cars will be in the game. The title of the thread is from an old movie with John Candy and Steve Martin. If you are in Europe than that is why you might have miss understood me. It would be kinda cool to see albion at a time thta peple were trying to invent modes of transport. Maybe have a model of DaVinci and his flying machines. You know like some old crackpot in the game that invenets weird futuristic things that everyone thinks is crazy. You could do side missions for to get supplies or be a test dummy. It might be able to work in Fable. Not a big part of the game but maybe 5-6 side missions that you could do.

Re: Plains, Trains, and Automobiles.

Ah, the penny farthing...I remember those days...(actually my dad had one. Don't ask.)

Well, I for one would love to be a highwayman with the whole stagecoach thing...for extra evil points, of course. And your idea for the side quests as a test dummy is wicked, Priest - how cool would that be?!

Mind you, might pose a problem if your beloved pooch is hanging about:
  • Crazy professor: Hero, strap yourself into my magnificent flying machine
  • Hero: I'm ready for takeoff, Professor!
  • Crazy professor: Excellent! Now just run to the end of the cliff and at the moment of jumping, pull this cord and it will unfold your wings for gliding, ok?
  • Hero: No problem! Here I go! *looks at dog* Stay, Rex. Good boy.
  • *Hero runs to edge of cliff and leaps off - the wings unfold and he begins to glide*
  • Crazy professor: *picks up small squeaky ball* Hey Hero! You forgot your ball! Catch!
  • *runs to edge of cliff and throws ball - dog launches himself after it immediately*
  • Crazy professor: Ah. Sorry!

Re: Plains, Trains, and Automobiles.

Aw, puppy died :'( lol. Angel...why did you make him die...not cool....not cool at all *nods head side to side...in a depressed kind of mood...* :P lol

Re: Plains, Trains, and Automobiles.

I reckon there will be carriages like cinderella.

Re: Plains, Trains, and Automobiles.

Ya, I had the same thought. There would most likely be carriages with horses pulling them. What I think though, is that you obviously wont be able to own one, but every once in a while, you'll see traders or what not riding around, and they will ask you If you want a ride to the nearest town or something. That'll be pretty cool. And perhaps they'll make it so you can rent your own carriage to ride around in until night or something like that :P

 I don't really live in Europe. that's just where the game Resident Evil 4 takes place. :shifty: I live in Maine. But Yeah I get you. Some old Crazy guy. It'd be cool to have quests for him

The puppy has a self preserve rule built in, so now he won't jump off cliffs in the game. heehee

Re: Plains, Trains, and Automobiles.

 Haha, ok now I feel better :P

Because he's a stupid dog...I bought him off some bloke in Bowerstone Tavern and he had half his pixels missing, so he's dumb...

Dang it, woman! You ruined it!

Re: Plains, Trains, and Automobiles.

I can see it all now- a battlefield, large and wide, flames bursting out into the soot-coated sky. Darkness reigns the battlefield and a hero charges through the onslaught wielding a mighty greatsword while riding his old-style steel-frame bike. On to battle! :D

Re: Plains, Trains, and Automobiles.

^ Continuation of story...

As he rides towards his enemies, one of the rusty wheels fall off, leaning the bike to one side. The Hero loses his balance, falls....and dies before he even swung his sword. THE END

:P

Re: Plains, Trains, and Automobiles.

Part 2 of the story.....

The hero's son walks onto the field ravaged by war. Just a small boy. He walks over to the corpse of his once great father. And wiping a tear from his eye he vows vengence. The man who will utter his apologies with a dying breath is a man named Schwin.

Re: Plains, Trains, and Automobiles.

A simple suggestion of "Try to stay on topic" would've been sufficient too. But as it's PriestXII's thread, he can do with it what he will.

Re: Plains, Trains, and Automobiles.

I hope there are horses.

I also hope the world of fable 2 wont be devided in small groups like the first one, I want too see something completely open like Oblivion.

Re: Plains, Trains, and Automobiles.

An open world like that would be cool. But I also liked the first fable. Horses would be a very good thing. And I am sure most people would want horse combat. I don't care either way. Oblivion did fine without it, but I am sure PM would do a great job with it. And if there are only horses for carriages, than I am cool with that too. I am sure that with all the stuff we have heard about and the vast amount we haven'tthe lack of a ridable horse probably wont mean much. But with the world being open like oblivion I hope they keep the differences in regions the same. I loved how parts of the map were completely different from one another. Oblivion did an okay job, but Fable one did a great job on diversity.

Re: Plains, Trains, and Automobiles.

C'mon, Thomas has gotta be in the game! That thread title spontaneously makes me want trains. They'd fit, too. The look of the trailer and all seems to be just late enough to have a really early steam train or two.

Maybe they could be... well, I don't know. Maybe they could be the mad scientist's crowning achievement-- the only one to be use by anyone! You have to admit that's be cool.

Re: Plains, Trains, and Automobiles.

I think it is a bit too modern
Thomas Savery was an English military engineer and inventor who in 1698, patented the first crude steam engine, based on Denis Papin's Digester or pressure cooker of 1679.
Steam Engine History

And it's a bit too FF III  OK I got nothing :P
