They've all had to live in the shadows of Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Charmander. And so far, none has been able to fit in those shoes.

Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Charmander were the originals so they're special, but my favourite starters were Totodile, Chikorita and Cyndaquil. Mudkip, Treeko and Torchic were mehish and boring, and they've been getting progressively worse.

Black and White's starters look like the worst so far. I thought they would've introduced a new type like Light and had different element starter Pokémon; A dark, a light and some other thing like ghost or shadow.

Off out now, I know I haven't been posting recently but exams make life hectic.

I completely agree - to me, Generation 2's starters were the best, Gen 3 was ok, Gen 4 was awful, and these just look unacceptable.

I swear they said they would take a completely different approach with Black and White? Surely then they could reform the starters completely?

Meh, you can always trade your super awesome pokemon from HG or SS...

Dark, Ghost, Electric. Those would have been sweet starting attribs. I'm tired of the fire-water-grass thing.

The fire, water, and grass starters will always be at the beginning of every game. They're not going to change it, and that's how it should be. I don't see how having different types would make the starters better anyway. Obviously the starters have gotten progressively worse, but the only starter that I would classify as bad so far is the Black & White water starter. We must also consider that we don't know what these three will evolve into yet.

I agree with Tsuyu, the original pokemon was the best, everything else sucks.

I'm really all set with having a Pig fire starter. I really hope this is a joke and they're just yanking our chains with these pieces of crap they've bestowed upon us. I really don't understand, G IV was bad enough with the lack of imagination. Now they're just throwing crap together and calling it Pokemon...really?...it's kind of depressing. I hope no one buys it and they re-make it. Or change those starters. That legendary Pokemon isn't very acceptable either. I really think they should take a peek at DA and get some ideas from that...give people jobs who have actual imaginations instead of those other people (who've lost all artistic talent).
