he says

"Are you admiring my gun? There were only 6 made for 6 lucky men, well not all lucky, I killed 4."

So he most likely carries one and then puts the others as trophies.

we don't know that. lots of assumptions, there. there's some debate as to what reaver means by "them." ie: is the red dragon one of those six? reaver apparently kill its former owner.

and there's no reason to think that just because reaver killed four of the other owners that he now possesses all (or any) of their guns. maybe he had them destroyed. maybe threw them off the decks of those ships he raided. who knows.

In combat, Reaver often stands in one place, slowly firing his gun. He supposedly hits every shot, though he does not kill with each one. When an enemy gets too close, or strikes him with a melee blow, he will draw his cutlass, striking at the same time and performing a flourish attack. While Reaver's damage per second output with his Dragonstomper .48 appears low, nearing Smuggler's Beach, he demonstrates the ability to fire several shots in very rapid succession, scoring a headshot and a kill on many enemys within a very short time. He remarks "You can tell them [your grandchildren] about that, too. Not that they would believe you..."

reaver just talks a big game. he's actually not that good. the devs apparently first created his AI to live up to his rep -- scoring multiple instant-kill headshots in quick succession. it turned that mission into "sit back and watch reaver pwn everything in the room." he was TOO good. so they made him stupider. and now, he's comicly bad.

the last time i played that mission, we got to the beach, and reaver had killed about two guys. and he kept talking about how i could tell my grandchildren that he never missed. yeah, he fired his gun twice, and killed with both shots.

it just makes him that much more of a self-absorbed douche bag. which is why we love him, right?

i agree he sucks, but at the end of the day the game follows legend not the a.i , if he did decide to shoot more he would have had more kills, as for those about his gun how do you know he is shooting as fast as he can? and as its his skill the stats could be close to a rusty pistol, and just look pretty, (probably not but we dont know any better yet)
