Remember, remember the 5th of November.

This is crazy. I'm not giving away privacy I don't want to give away. I'm fine with telling people my interests: it leads me to more things I like. And I use Facebook to communicate with people. I think it's pretty damn handy. Who is so fukk of paranoia as to 'take down Facebook'? Boy, you must be really afraid of those conspiracy theories. Listen: I DON'T CARE WHAT THEY DO WITH MY THE INFORMATION I HAVE GIVEN VOLUNTARILY. Well, unless people I don't know start sending me e-mails. I would have to clean up my inbox more often. Oh, that's soooo terrible. >_>'

But of course, it's just one of multiple ways to stay connected to people. If it does somehow get taken down, I'll learn to live without it. I've done it before.

From a paranoid standpoint, if their were evil corporations and governments trying to sell me something (I KNOW, ITS NOT TRUE) and they needed my private info then theyd take it wether I had a Facebook or not so why worry? Who cares.

And I sure as hell don't care about Facebook selling my info I give it out freely to the public on that site :/ I know alotta people who even post their numbers in the info section (dumb)

Even if you sit in a chair and dont do anything all day your name goes through a dozen different things everyday.

If these hackers do something cool I'll be glad I think its interesting, screwing with stuff is funny.

No... back to either using MySpace or poking people in real life? FFFFFFUUUUUUU

stupid thing to go after. lately i've been seeing them as failed activists more than anything.
the average /b/tard is 16-19 years old, and therefore gives less than two ****s about current events or privacy. they're trying to take down facebook for 1 reason and 1 reason only: to see if they can.

if they can't crash amazon.com during the holidays, they can't crash facebook any day. it's like trying to DDoS the planet, which has more than enough space for everyone in the world at present by definition.

Good job I got off it, I'll be supporting them as I did with the PSN hackers. :troll:

You might not use it anymore, but the information you added is still there. If you look, FB only gives you the option of "deactivating" an account, not deleting it. The only way you'll be unaffected is if you've never joined FB.

Facebook never lets go of information once it has it.

But I do agree. I've added the information I've wanted to add. Who are these people to speak for me?

I wasn't aware of any kind of misuse of people's information by facebook, whether it be selling it to government agencies and authoritarian governments (which could be true or false), or simply storing every user's information even after a user deletes it. All I know is that this makes me even more satisfied with my decision to always stay away from facebook. I'm not really informed enough on this situation to make an educated opinion as to whether or not Anonymous should attempt to take down facebook, but I wouldn't bother standing in their way even if I could.

Actually it does give you the option to delete it, its just abit more hidden.

Not to offend you or anything, but I just think anarchy is a stupid idea all together.

Well, most people really don't understand it. It's not meant to be chaos, destruction, and disorderliness. Anarchism is all about opposition to illegitimate and unjustified authorities that pose threats to freedom and equality. Hell, the Venus Project is designed as an anarchy.

But.... Thats not anarchy. Anarchy is anything goes. Lawlessness. The Venus Project is essentially a way for communism to work.

Technically, whether it involves cooperation like to Venus Project, or whether it involves chaos and destruction, any kind of a society without a government is an anarchy. However, a society involving chaos and destruction isn't what the theory of anarchism strives for. And yes, the Venus Project does seem somewhat communistic, but communism is an economic ideology while anarchism is a political theory. Even though anarchism is more typically associated with socialism, the theory of anarcho-communism is out there, so communism and anarchism could theoretically coexist.

But you still need to have some kind of body to regulate society. Otherwise people just do what the **** they want. I don't care what Jaques Frescoe says, some kind of government is needed.
