Sleeping makes me tired =x

I swear, whenever I get REM sleep, I am far more tired when I wake up. Then again, I have dreamed ever night for the past nine years, and I have learned to control my dreams. Maybe I am doing too much in my dreams?

Anyone else have any similar experiences?

Re: Sleeping makes me tired =x

I think your brain is more active (during sleep) when you are not trying to control your dreams... I always wake up tired, I think it's normal :)

Re: Sleeping makes me tired =x

Actually, I get this alot: You are probably not sleeping long enough. I generally sleep 5-6 hours per night, which is far too little. When you do that, you wake up feeling extremely tired.

Re: Sleeping makes me tired =x

well, dreams only happen while in REM sleep, so if you've dreamed every night for the past 9 years you've been in REM sleep every night... so you're always more tired when you wake up?

real sleep is in REM sleep, your body doesn't fully recouperate otherwise, so perhaps it's that you aren't getting enough REM sleep...
you could also be sleeping too much, as this can leave a person over tired

I hear you. I cannot sleep or else I am worn out in the morning and may as well be half-dead some of the times. My mind works very strangely. You sleep three hours a night, get up and want to sleep in, but then you realize that you physically can't and you are stuck in an illogical predicament amongst predicaments. Why I really do not know...

Calm down, it's not a disease. "Rapid eye movement (REM) sleep is the normal stage of sleep characterized by rapid movements of the eyes."

or you could have sleep apnœa, it can be dangerous. read more bout it here if you want. Sleep apnea - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

not really... =]
they said they dream all night... people with sleep apnea rarely reach levels 3 and 4 REM sleep (the stages where you dream), which is what causes them to be so fatigued during the day...

 You mean Doctor? If you were, you would know that just because you have symptoms doesn't mean you have the disease. I could have all the symptoms of a specific type of cancer, that doesn't mean I do.

Re: Sleeping makes me tired =x

what are you trying to say??

im not a docter?

Re: Sleeping makes me tired =x

Basically

I sincerely doubt that...
any first year med or psych student knows that those with sleep apnea don't dream
and they also know that a single symptom is not indicative of a disease... a medical history is necessary to make a diagnosis...
I also doubt any "doctor" would be making diagnoses using such a disreputable source as Wikipedia
they can also spell 'Doctor' ;)

your both crazy

nope, I'm a fourth year Anthro/Psych student, top of my class ;)
I know what sleep apnea is and what it is not... and I'm fairly certain that you are not a doctor... but I really don't care... you can go believe you are if you want, just please don't go passing yourself off as one to give people faulty medical advice... it can cause harm in the long run =]
