I'm not entirely sure what kinds of perks come with being 18 over in the land of the British (aside from being legally responsible for yourself instead of that being your parents' job. That is how it works over there, right? Just like us?), but whatever they may be, enjoy them, and have yourself a damn fine weekend. See if you can make it better than my 18th birthday. At age 18 you can now vote in elections, drink in a pub and buy cigarettes but I think you need to be 21 to buy alcohol and you get ID'd if you look under the age of 25. You can also buy houses, buy a car, anything that requires you to sign a contract and you can now consent your own medical treatment.

18 is legal age to purchase alcohol still in a shop but if you look under 25 you can get ID'd yeah. This always made me laugh, I mean when would a doctor ever advise this...?:

One of the major differences is that we can legally get drunk at 18 :troll:

That said, basically everyone on both sides of the pond gets ****ed at least once before the legal age so, meh.
