Apologies for the delay, kept forgetting to reply. Just finished watching the newest episode (#7), and by god.. that episode was absolutely superb. I mean seriously, the twist and turns, the suspense, the drama, the realizations, etc. And I just want to throw this out there, the pacing of this season is simply perfect. How each episode gets right to the point with proper build-ups and doesn't waste precious time with needless filler. I like that.
Spoiler: Glaber has become so ruthless I don't even know what to say anymore, and now Illithyia is getting a first-hand taste of what it's like to live in fear and knowing that your life is puppeted by someone else, much like the slaves she once took pleasure in controlling. As they say, what goes around comes around. Though I have to say I am actually surprised how emotional she got when her personal slave was crucified, her.. Illithyia of all people, getting emotional over an expendable slave? Hah, wow.
And now we have Lucretia dipping her fingers into the gravy again and trying to manipulate Gannicus? Are you kidding me? I knew right from the start when she spoke to him that she had no intentions of helping him in the end, but to screw him to a dead end to only benefit herself. Thank goodness Gannicus wised up and took matters into his own hands. Lucretia & Illithyia have not a care in the world for anyone but themselves, and they'll screw anyone over in the process to ensure they benefit the most in the world. Too bad for them, the world is filled with people who aren't complete fools, that's why Illithyia is kidnapped by Gannicus and Lucretia is getting raped every night by the lowly Ashur.. WHO btw, looks absolutely bizarre with a shaved face, I mean what the hell.
I'm still hoping that Gannicus does join their cause, not just for his own safety, but to help bring down the Romans so there won't be more slaves like he once was. He still possesses the skill & abilities that made him a God as evident of what he did to Illithyia's escort guards, single-handedly I might add. Now he has a big bull's eye labeled on his chest, and he's going to need some help. Hopefully he rethinks his decision for not joining Spartacus, or can otherwise be persuaded to join up.
The new recruits for Sparticus' little army I wasn't sure would be a good idea, because like Crixus I too felt they were way too reckless and wold be counter-productive to their cause. But to my surprise, to get their asses in gear was the literal defacing of their biggest warrior to solve their primary issue. Not bad. The next episode this Sunday is leaving me with expectations of excellence and out of control chaos (but in a good way). I don't think it will disappoint.
