Spore!

I just got Spore, I always thought that it was only a Microsoft game, and I have a Mac.. So i walked in, Looked at the game just for fun and looked on the back. It says "Compatible Windows and Mac." And then i blacked out and woke up on my computer installing it..

I guess this could be in the other Sub-Forum, But ohwell. If it RALLY needs to be moved then move it.

You create a little Orgaism at the start, then it grows into a water animal, then into a land animal (Dinosaur) kinda thing, then into a more devloped civilization (Cavemen, Tribes) then it goes up in ages, Its awesome! Just installing it now!

And i also got the Creatue pack, So i create my own looking one, with all these different kind of body parts to use.

It's split up into stages. First stage you play this bacteria thing, like an early lifeform, and you just play for about 10 minutes chompin' down on smaller organisms. Like those fish eat small fish, you get bigger type of games. Second stage you are on land, and you can further design your species to have legs and wings, blah blah blah, and these give you certain abilities, such as gliding, walking, jumping etc. But to advance to the next stage, you need to communicate with or kill other species. Then the third stage kind of turns into an RTS type game, where you communicate or try to destroy other tribes. I can't tell you the rest after this, I got very, VERY bored. But if you can ignore some of the boringness, it isn't too bad of a game. But that is the game itself. When you install it installs other garbage that you don't want. I still have this EA download manger that I've never used. Stupid EA.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that you can also choose to be a carnivore or herbivore in the beginning. And killing other species like a barbarian later will move you towards carnivore, and being nice moves you to omnivore I believe. I'm a little sketchy on that. I think mouths allow you to beat omni/herb/carnivore, also. I might install it again.

I found it boring, but I am not big into life simulaters. Been a simple arcade and FPS man myself. Occasionaly like RTS games if they have a good story, RPG games are fun but I get distracted and bored quickly.

Yeah it is. And I found it damn hard to start out as a herbivore. You can only eat those stupid little plant bud things that float around while these other things are nipping at your ass.

Yeah, Ima pick Omnivore.

I like Simulator games, I actually like all type of games really..

Shooter, RPG, Sports... and so on.

Its a fun game for the first 2 stages, then it starts to lose its fun. But just don't over play it, or it will become boring faster.

ahh, ok. thx for the pointer. I remember when information on this game was 1st released. It sounded so damn epic being able to create your own race/civilization and (at the time) it was announced that you could go to other players' worlds and fight their creations, then it launched, and when I saw the graphics I was extremely disappointed.

It was just another in the ever-growing category of "Games that Electronic Arts ruined". SPORE was gonna be much more (look at the early demo videos and such) but ultimately it ended up a shallow cheap version of the game because EA pushed and pushed for them to release the game far too early.
