Starting a Religion

I'd struggle not to eat him :(

I read Battlefield Earth. Wasn't very good. :/

I saw Battlefield Earth. Was even worse.

I was just wondering, if you were to make your own religion, what would it take, like physically, do you need to sign anything, have papers to prove, or what?

And lets just keep this about the topic at hand, please..

Why go through all the trouble? Just revive some old and semi-forgotten one. Less paperwork, and you have the benefit of having a true and tested franchise that people know.

I meant to ask, Scarecrow - why the question? You planning on deifying one of us to worship? Because I am TOTALLY ok with me - er, that...

You could just cut the middleman out and take up satanism, aka worshipping yourself.

If I was to create a religion, I'd without question adopt Satanism's tenet on holidays; The highest holiday of the year being your birthday.

Effort. Plus less money, BBQ'd offerings and ego-massaging. I mean, I know I'm great. But I also like other people telling me that.

Come to think of it, back in the day on the DMC boards there was a religion devoted to me...shame those involved have mostly left now...

If less than 50% of people are part of it it's a cult, if more than 50% of people are part of it it's a religion.

Obviously this means that the population of Earth would be half one religion and half not, but you see what I mean.

If one person says he is talking to an imaginary friend, in our eyes he is crazy.

If several millions say they are talking to the very same imaginary friend, we call it religion.

I worship Kraft. The great creator sends me various cheeses in the mail in exchange for my faith.

For it was he who processed the milk of the milkyway into the world we dwell in.
Evidence of his greatness can be found at any grocery store. All hail.

Yeah this is what I'm trying to say essentially, I'm not necessarily saying that the friend is 'imaginary' but yeah, you get the jist.
