Technology Of Fable 3

another thing i would like to see in fable 3 is a role to your attractiveness and looks. Like in your houses you have the choice to bathe. If you have gone many days without bathing it brings your looks down a bit, if you have bthed, your looks go up a bit. I also think they exaggerated with the food a bit in fable 2. Like if you eat 3 peices of meat u get pretty fat. I also want to see some factories up for sale. You can be a cruel factory owner, who has child labour and black lung, or a pure one, whos fair and only hires those who are old enough to work. There will obviously be steam engines since its the industrial revolution, so will we be seeing steam powered boats? canals? maybe even a locomotive?? I also want to know if you can be able to have smuggling bussinesses, like smuggling alchohols and sugars and other stuff from other countries like samarkand

I suppose that wouldn't be that bad. I'm not dying for a feature like that, though.

Yea, that was somewhat irritating and unrealistic.

Oh, god no. A feature like that would bring Fable too far down the timeline.

Steam boats seem okay for Fable, but a train somehow seems too futuristic for Fable, like the factories.

Meh, might be kind of cool.

Not really steam boats and trains were made at about the same time.

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

There's a mine cart on a rail track in Fable 2. It's 50 years after, maybe we'll get to participate in making the first Transalbion Railway?

Definitely don't want the bath thing in there. This isn't the Sims :|

I don't think 50 years is enough to turn mine carts into trains... And although the bath thing and the factory thing sound cool, it would make Fable 3 a bit too advance for its time...

Personally, I would like to see something like what Da Vinci thought of, like the first war machines (besides the gun).. Like a tank?:hmm:

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

Too futuristic I think.

I'd like to be able to cause more chaos. By that, I mean being able to actually burn down buildings and have them not refresh. If you invested money into the city it would begin to look better. You could customize different objects. You could enter Redecorate Mode in Bowerstone and for example you could change change a green ugly street pole to a shiny black one. But maybe they should add some kind of build mini-game feature so it takes time for all of that to happen.

I would also like to see more ancient-like tombs with puzzles where you have to match up signs to show you which something you something to open the something door. :P

And as for mine carts, that would be cool to explore an abandoned mine and be able to make it infested with Hobbes or a railroad way.

I would also like to see more customizable clothing, items and just about everything as well as no loading screens other than for maybe quests and start of the game.

Those are all the ideas I've ever had for Fable, sorry for writing so much lol.

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

Oh god, please, no more puzzles.

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

Well you have to remember that your still using your character from fable 2 (Supposedly) so they can't jump 100 or 200 years ahead as your characters not immortal.

At most will see some Renaissance inventions but nothing more....

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

^The Fable 3 Hero is the son or daughter of the Fable 2 Hero.

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

^Well these people are barely along the lines of the Renaissance age, so at the most we'd be seeing 50 year difference (Assuming your hero had kids at around 30 and 20 years for the kid to age) So like i said they'd JUST be entering the Renaissance.

P.S. Of course time is totally different from the real world and fable so it's possible there closer to ending the Renaissance age but they still wouldn't have that amazing technology besides some new fancy war machines...

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

They'd actually just be exiting the Renaissance. We were on the cusp of the industrial age in Fable 2

They were? Looked a lot like they were still in the old middle age with out all the religion, but probably right.

Still we wouldn't have trains or steam boats, and if exiting only some more fancy gizmo's.

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

I do believe Lionhead revealed that Fable 3 would take place around the time steam power was invented.

Actually, I have reason to believe that steam-powered locomotives existed in Fable II. In Rookridge, along the tracks that you chased Dash on, there's a water tower that you probably didn't notice. Well, as it just so happens, I notice these things, and after a bit of digging, I found that a similar device was developed for pumping water into a locomotive so it could produce steam.

Go and look for yourself. It should be near the silver key chest. I would post a picture, but my disc was ring burned, regrettably. :(

Yeah, just throwing that out there.

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

We've already established that there may have been steam powered mine carts, etc, but it is a big step from that to full blown mass transit style locomotives.

Could happen though.

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

^I highly doubt those mining carts were steam-powered.

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

lol be kind of odd to have a mining cart that is steam powered. All in all i hope they don't go all out with the technology.

With all things since magic is disappearing technology will speed up, vice verse for will as long as its goes technology will always take a step behind it. If they accelerate to the point of locomotives it would just be odd to be able to shoot lighting or fire from nothing.

Probably right, but my point is that both concepts were around, it would not be a great leap for someone to join the two and get the concept of a locomotive together. Infrastructure and building, etc, is another story.

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

Somebody said something about tanks. They were invented during the 1st world war by us brits(yay), which was just after the industrial revoloution era. Maybe in Fable 4 but not in 3.

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

He was talking about Da Vinci's idea for tanks.
