Re: Technology Of Fable 3

But did he call them tanks? Those are more likely armoured vehicle deigns, tanks were created by Lt. Col Swinton, with the intention of having a armed vehicles, capable of breaking german lines.

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

That's just semantics.

It could also be said that H.G. Wells came up with the first modern tank design in his short story The Land Ironclads.

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

You guys do realise that this is a game standing apart from our world?

They do not have to follow an actual time line so eh,
We'll see.

Anyhow, I don't really fancy the idea's of trains and things, would make travelling to easy and that would be a bit sad, seeing as it was great to run around with my dog finding all kinds of treasure and enjoying the scenery.

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

Yeah, but considering we have nothing else from which to gauge how things might be, it's easier to draw parallels with reality, than to speculate based solely on Fable (which we have to remember is based on reality itself).

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

That and the developers have to follow some form of timeline, and and at the moment its been *somewhat* connected to ares

Somebody said something about tanks. They were invented during the 1st world war by us brits(yay), which was just after the industrial revoloution era. Maybe in Fable 4 but not in 3.

Let's just hope Fable isn't taken that far into the future.

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

I'm still pretty sure 50 years after Fable 2 is about 1800, which is pre-Victorian, which is slightly before the indulstrial revolution. Therefore, we might have some simplistic steam devices coming into existence. However, you have to remember that Fable 2 had a submarine in it (Knothole Island).

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

What I really want to see (particularly after watching the new Sherlock Holmes. Great job once again, Guy) is a Dickensian London-espue style Bowerstone, Bloodstone more like Tortuga from Pirates of the Carribean and Oakfield moving along similar lines to that of Bowerstone, but not necessarily too metropolitan. It should remain as peaceful and idyllic as possible, but manage to update itself.

He was talking about Da Vinci's idea for tanks.

Yes, that was what I meant... Like, there might this 'Da Vinci' guy in Albion, and he needed the hero to test it or something... Just a thought, though

That's what I reckon the time will be at, pre-Victorian.

That would be cool, but you should probably thank Ubisoft for coming up with the idea

That's a joke, right? Such ideas have been around since the SNES. A couple of Square games do it.

*sigh* Why would you ruin a perfectly good comment with facts?

Or anything that would turn Fable into not Fable:

Ah, but what is Fable? The first two games are dramatically different, so you can't really define the series.

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

I agree that there is a limit, but that limit is way beyond steam boats, canals and locomotives.

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

I am looking forward to it, but in the trailer the person in the trailer looks like a girl so I hope you are not forced to be a girl or something like that...O.o

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

Im sure it'll give us a choice of gender

Seriously? How could you not know that that's Theresa?

Its very possible for some people who don't pay attention to it much, were use to seeing Teresa as a ragged girl with a blindfold, its very possible for someone who played through the game not paying attention to not know who she is.

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

The Fable 1 version of Theresa would not give any indication to the person in the trailer being Theresa. It's the Fable 2 Theresa that does. They have the same exact clothes and the same exact voice.

Re: Technology Of Fable 3

Whatever! Some people may not have played Fable II.

Look at his XBL gamertag profile thing. He has it.
