The flying meatball god

Re: The flying meatball god

I didn't say religion was a science. I was saying that in school, as far as I was concerned, we were only ever taught the idea of evolution - not big bang or any other theory that came along.

I don't need educating on what science is - I am well aware. Neither do I need educating on what religion is.

But hey - read what you want.

Re: The flying meatball god

Creationalism is based of Faith not Science, All forms of belief spawn from some sort of assumptions. Science is mostly based on trusting in our five senses. Creationalism is based on trusting Religious doctrine. Some people don't believe in religion but an even smaller group don't believe in science. Both have been proven wrong on occasion but science adapts to those times and grows from it as I see it.

Edit I posted this before reading the last two posts. I have been sitting on this page for a while.

I'm not sure if that was directed at me or not but if it was, my post was not directed at you... it was directed at North American schools teaching Religion in Science class... O.o

Re: The flying meatball god

Look, arguments put aside, science is a man-made concept, coming from nowhere else than us as humans, and who the hell are we to decide half of what's right and what's wrong. The purpose of the whole point of this thread, the pastafarians, is not motivated towards a religion in the sense of actual worship and it is not based on any historical events, ideas or event written accounts. How people can call it a "religion" is beyond me. For that matter, psycopathic morons may as well be considered their own religion and we as forum-goers too. When I look at the world today, I wonder what the hell's gone wrong with it all.

Seriously, though- as I'm typing this, there's a pastafarian to my left and someone who doesn't give a crap to my right. The world today is just so screwed up that no one can believe in a higher power, something that actually made it all, but no- people after all this time believe in a giant mythical entree that made the world out of a hill, a tree and a midget! I kid you not people, this is what our world is coming to! One of these days, I hope that people will finally find out the truth, and perhaps by that time they won't be so stupid and blind to not see it.

Re: The flying meatball god

I... I don't know why you people keep arguing like this. There is no way to disprove that the FSM created the world as we know it, thus it must be true! There is even a book written by someone saying so.

Re: The flying meatball god

It's all lies. I made the world out of an empty washing up liquid bottle, some sticky back plastic and two cardboard circles. Had a special on Blue Peter and the World was born :D

But...I...uh...no. I can't debunk that. Nuh-uh. It... all...makes sense! This day and onward, I am no longer Tsuyu, but Algernon Afodonius Cerelon of the Sharonian Church and will devote my life to spread the true word!

Now all I have to do is go around the forums, gathering enough of The Holy One's wisdom into a sacred volume....

Re: The flying meatball god

Actually, I do have a Blue Peter badge...I guess it's a sacred relic now, eh?

Get to it, High Priest...there are many many beautiful women in it for you as a bonus for spreading my word amongst the ignorant peoples of this world...

I've got crayons, construction paper and some glitter - will that do for the first sacred volume?

Re: The flying meatball god

Of course, the beautiful maidens must be saved and lead onto thy holy path of enlightenment and salvation.

And uh... got some macaroni and glue? I think it could make the cover real purdy and nice.

Re: The flying meatball god

I have four different types of pasta, poster paint and some Pritt Stick which smells nice :D

I got my BP badge when I was little - Caron Keating was presenting and you had to draw a dress for her. I won and totally rule with my badge :D

Re: The flying meatball god

Personally I prefer the Most Sacred and Holy Church of the International Antagonostic Association of Nerds, Siblings of Non-Survivors of Disease, and Similar Small, Angry People. Or, as it is more commonly known, MSaHCotIAAoNSoN-SoDaSSAP.

We might make less sense and sound kinda dumb, but at least we get the chance to say "**** God" and get away with it. It's our version of "Amen," I swear!

But I have to admit, I still love the Pastafarians, even if I still haven't figured out what. exactly, the Rastafarians are. I still need to look them up.

Re: The flying meatball god

Rastafarians believe god and Jesus are black and smoke pot as a "religious" thing

... they don't believe Jesus is black... O.o
they believe in a black Messiah, and that he is a reincarnation of Jesus or a rebirth of him, but he is not Jesus...

"**** God"? See, this is what I mean- no one gives a care in hell about religion any more and can't even respect it if nothing else. Honestly, I am like the only one who still follows God in my entire school, because people either believe in a fake-*** god and his "noodly appendage" or just plain don't care. So what, when we all die, we just go in a plot in the ground and that's all there is? That's all there is to life here? I'm serious, I feel very, very strongly about this, and it ****es me off that people can just blow religion all away like it's just some joke, like it's not the truth, but it is, even if you are all too blind to see that.

that is your belief and your opinion, but other people are entitled to their own as well...
just as you are entitled to believe in your god, other people are allowed to believe in another god, or higher power, or no god whatsoever...
flipping out and shoving your views down people's throats and referring to their own beliefs as "fake ***" and calling them "blind" does nothing to encourage discussion...
please try to respect everyone's views, not just those who agree with yours...
what would be the point in faith if nobody ever called that faith into question? challenges to your own faith can give you new reasons to affirm it to yourself, their reasons to believe differently, in countering them can give you new reasons to believe it even more strongly...
simply belittling people and telling them they're wrong end of discussion doesn't really get you anywhere and it's highly offensive =]
