The Lost and Damned

Well, most of you already know this is an addon to GTA IV. Now this has got to be one of the best addons on the Marketplace in my opinion. Well worth 1600 MSP. Now my question to you: Did you like it? And did you like the ending? The ending ****ed me right off.

Here it is in spoilers:

In the ending, Jim, the coolest freaking guy in The Lost MC, gets killed. I can't remember how, but I think it is when you and him try to split the cash that was for the diamonds 50/50. They take him and he texts you to go to Ray's place. You find him tied in a chair and being tortured with a blowtorch. Ouch, eh? Anyways, he somehow has a knife in his hands and cuts himself free and jumps up and grabs the torturer around the throat. Now Ray hits you to the ground, and you kick the gun out of his hands. Jim picks it up and points it at Ray while still holding the other man. As you make your way up the steps slowly, Jim slits the man's throat and you both run like hell. Cutscene over, and now you do a mission. whatever. Then apparently Jim dies. My guess is that Niko kills him in the other storyline. I can't remember the other one, it's been awhile. But I think that's how he dies. Niko chases him down for Ray and kills him. I think. Again, not sure. Now the last mission starts with Mr. Stubbs going to your Clubhouse and telling you that your previous leady, Billy Grey, was actually a narc and was trying to pin some stuff on you. Whatever, now you gotta go into a prison and kill him. So you do, blah blah blah. Very easy mission. Now after, you go to your clubhouse and burn it down and your group apparently "breaks up". WHY???? Okay, Jim was awesome and he died, but so did others. This just ****ed me off. And your clubhouse. You could armwrestle, play a card game and such, and it was just a cool place. So that sums up the end.

Now did you like or dislike the ending?

Re: The Lost and Damned

I never liked GTA4, but I've heard a lot of good things about this addon, mainly that it's like buying another game.

Don't they have another coming out soon? "The Ballad of Gay Tony" I believe.

Re: The Lost and Damned

I dunno, I liked the story of TLAD. I love the intertwining/intervention or whatever it's called of those two stories.

Re: The Lost and Damned

My favourite grand theft auto game would of had to be san andreas.. i havent played any other ones that were as good as that one.

Re: The Lost and Damned

San Andreas was good, but the story got slightly stupid. Sneaking into "Area 69" to steal a jetpack for a hippie? Yeah, I doubt a gang banger could do that. Or that mission where you steal a military jet? The game was based too much on making money and random features. Property investment and the like. I like how GTA IV took it up another notch and took a more "realistic" turn. And the story, in my opinion, is only rivaled by Mass Effect.

And the addon is much like another game, except it comes a little short with only 21 missions or so. But other than that it is awesome. It comes with a separate online, new weapons, bike delivery missions, all that stuff.

Re: The Lost and Damned

i think vice city was best as i found it easier to like all the characters, it wasnt too big and i enjoyed the bright colours, cars and weapons more than any others, although iv was good i got bored easily

Re: The Lost and Damned

I think Saints row 2 is the best :P
i like GTA IV the most of the GTA Series because yeah stealing jetpacks for a hippie is pretty stupid.
TLAD ssems pretty cool mayne i'll download it once.

Re: The Lost and Damned

Vice City is my favourite GTA. Always will be. *Cough*Saints Row 2..*Cough*

I've never played TLAD but from that ending, it seems a little f**ked up.

Re: The Lost and Damned

I like how in TLAD you have a sense of belonging. It's just you, your "brothers", and the road. Very impacting story though. Poor Jim. :'(

And Vice City was so... Bright! Was a great GTA.

But we all know Chinatown Wars was the best. :lol:

Re: The Lost and Damned

Thr Grand Theft Auto Series has always been Top of my list second to Fable; and although I have GTA3 and Vice City; San Andreas is my favourite because of the Open World Chaos on offer; especially when using Cheats; which I Always did; I didn't like Nico in GTA4; though there was going to be nothing stopping me buying GTA4; the Storyline was okay; but Absolutely Nothing in Comparison to Saints Row 2; which is By Far the Better Game;
The Lost and Damned;
Well; I was Very Unhappy that it was 1600 Microsoft Points; but eventually managed to find ther money to get the Points necessary;
I was looking forward to this Game Add On More than I was the Fable 2 DLC; however; I have been Bitterly Disappointed; I don't want to be a Biker particulary; and regardless of whether that is the Story; I HATE being Forced to Ride a Bike in Every Mission; Especially the Chopper; as it has the Game Physics of a Skateboard on Ice; the NRG500 is still Cool; but I don't like the fact that I cant use it in Races;
Overall I have been Desperately Disappointed in this Game Add On; and though I want the next Game Add On when it arrives; mainly because I don't want to Miss Out on something Great; the Title 'Gay Tony' has put me off already; and I wonder whether the days of Rockstar are Over; considering the Table Tennis Game; and now Insulting our Intelligience once more with another Awful 'Red Dead' Game;

Re: The Lost and Damned

Jim either died of us injuries (brain anurism or clot) or his death is releated to the next DLC.

I liked TLAD, it was a good long 6 - 7 hours DLC
