As far as I can tell, at this point in time, Fable 3 has a few minor and major problems:-
  • Weapon morphing isn't fully thought out / implemented as they said. It's not a major thing, but you can definitely tell something is missing. Have a look at this thread ( http://lionhead.com/forums/t/290532.aspx?PageIndex=1 ) for an expandation on this.
  • The Sanctuary doesn't have enough information. As an example: It's impossible to find out how many potions etc you have without going into combat or trying to sell them to a Pawnbroker.
  • The controls are a bit messy. Example: Not having a dedicated block button is very, very awkward, even in game like Fable.
  • The touch system doesn't work well. You're essentially dragging a person along by an invisible string except when they're dragging against you. Not a major thing, but for such a heavily advertised feature it should have had more focus. Oh, and yes, you can only hold their hand like Catholic schoolgirls. No dragging them by the scruffs of their necks.
  • The game really should be about a third longer. Either the second half of the game should be greatly expanded (fighting against the foe as king, come on guys there's easily enough room for content there) or an entire act of the game should be spent in Aurora - which is easily one of the prettiest parts of the game. The second half of the game also really needs more epicness. The effect you have on the world is epic, but you didn't really get to do anything. Trying not to give away storyline spoilers here.
Comments?

i'm playing it right now and its perfectly fine to me. The controls have a different feel but they're not horrible.

I agree with most of what you've said here. I haven't played long enough to fully see morphing or the end of the game so no comment on those.

I agree on the Sanctuary (which is still an overall improvement) and the touch system (I miss the old follow command). The thing I REALLY hate is the social interaction system as I hate dancing and hugging everyone I want to befriend.

Lastly, I disagree about blocking as it seems fine to me and the same as the old Fables.

I agree with you, open poster. I commented the game here and I said it was AWESOME. That was the first part of the game. When you reach Aurora, you say "hey, this is freaking great, they have sick minds at Lionhead!", but than you realise that the part of the main quest in Aurora doesn't exist, apart from your arrival. Then you go and you want to overthrow the King (and there's a hole in the plot), you do it (too easily) and you become King. You are sooo excited, but when you realise that it's about 2-3 hours and the final quest is short and AWFUL, instead of be a good ending for a good game (and it wouldn't be so difficult to do the ending part).

I think they just rushed the making of the game and they didn't make the final part nor the King feature after you beat the game.

I remember an interview of Peter Molyneux where he says "IT'S ALL ABOUT POWER!". AHAHAHAH. ****YOU Peter.

(:

wow as a memeber since 2006 on that website. everyone their has gone to being very dicky

Edit.

they are huge fans quite obviously

Everyone has a right to voice their opinion, but lets praise it for what it is, entertainment, and not critique it. Games are to be loved and enjoyed, not to be reviewed, the producers made a game for fans, not peer assessers. , there was going to be problems, it is a large game, bigger than others I have seen.

It is a complex game, problems will arise, but everyone must remember that it takes a lot of money and work to make a game good,
and with Fable III, the third and most difficult entry of a series to achieve, it takes much more work to suceed.
Sure some things were off, but thats the same with every other game, no game is perfect, even elder scrolls 4 wasnt perfect and that is one of the greatest I have played.

When people review things, they must respect the time and dedication Peter and his team put into the game.
Besides, game reviews are quite pathetic, people, who dont know how to make games and how they work are criticising and ripping it up, like I said, people can hate it, but at least show respect for the material you hate.

I don't want to spoil the party, but... I told you so.

Next time before telling people that they're making false claims... well don't

You didn't mention any of this. :|

Sorry, I wasn't refering to the OP. But... "Weapon morphing isn't fully thought out / implemented as they said." That was one big thing that did annoy me which I mentioned... yeah its really annoying playing RPGs with weapons that can potentially look ugly.

So since I know how games are created and know how to do it, I'm allowed to complain? Well, I thank you for the freedom, I guess, but I won't complain. It's not nice--also, the game isn't released yet. In Europe, obviously. XD

i honestly do not like this game one bit so far, and i'm a couple hours in. i've never looked forward to a game as much as i have this, and it's terrible. huge disappointment.
