Re: Third-String COD Developer Launches Website

This is stupid. :|

Re: Third-String COD Developer Launches Website

I know I'm sick of all these COD games. Now there's a third Developer !? It's craziness !

Re: Third-String COD Developer Launches Website

I quite like the website...but I think Activision is starting to milk the COD series a wee bit too much now...I don't want to have to buy a new COD game every 7-8 months! I mean, I know Activision aren't exactly holding me at gunpoint, but COD players tend to naturally migrate towards the newer game regardless.

Re: Third-String COD Developer Launches Website

Yeah everyone who is loyal to Modern Warfare 2 will be slating Black Ops *cough Sean cough* and go buy it anyways lol Same as World at War. All the COD4 fans were flaming it but they all ended up buying it regardless. I'll probably buy it aswell to be perfectly honest. It's simply because of the demand though that they are releasing at least 1 COD game every year plus placing extortionate prices on their DLC's lol.

Re: Third-String COD Developer Launches Website

Activision are the new EA of milking franchises. EA's have improved over the years however... I purchased World At War and enjoyed the single player but thought the multiplayer was unbalanced and level design was very poor. So i quickly sold it.

Re: Third-String COD Developer Launches Website

They're replacing InfinityWard due to the whole lawsuit against Activision. But chances are InfinityWard will STILL make Modern Warfares, just won't be in the Call of Duty series. They're still fighting over the right.

I hope Infinity Ward do regain the rights and can therefore make the games how they wanted and not how Activision kept telling them to. However i dont think they will win the courtcase as Activision has much more money and will likely buy them out anyway. I do look forward to Respawn Entertainments first title though and to see their unshackled creative minds at work again.

Re: Third-String COD Developer Launches Website

Respawn Entertainment is the company majority of IW members moved to, after Activision fired them correct?

Thats correct yeah.

Re: Third-String COD Developer Launches Website

Yeah so right now IW is pretty much split in half, half work for Respawn and half work for Activision. It's kinda.. mm.. don't know what to say really, seems like there will be four Call of Duties now, haha.

All the 'big people' have left Infinity Ward and joined Respawn Entertainment now. Only some model designers and artists remained really. At this moment in time Respawn Entertainment have nothing to do with Call Of Duty as they cant touch it unless they win the lawsuit. Funded by the millions of EA ironically (formally public enemy number 1).

Re: Third-String COD Developer Launches Website

Yeah why would EA... oh shove it.

No point in trying to understand this collaboration of bruffles and cyanide and mischief all built in one. Anyone who figures out what I just said gets 10,000 rep, cause I don't even know what I just said.

Its funny as everyone hated EA (some still do) but they have gotten better over the years and now Activision have taken their place in most peoples eyes as the greedy money grabbing *******s.

Re: Third-String COD Developer Launches Website

Yeah I'm not gonna lie, the new Medal of Honor looks pretty decent, I wasn't a fan of EA for a while, but they truly are getting better, and now Activision truly does look like the one that will keep money for themselves, especially after what they did to InfinityWard, that was completely unnecessary, they worked so hard on that game, pretty much the number one game of all time it was rated so highly, and they couldn't even give them a bonus for making it.

Exactly the way i saw it too and i felt the same about EA (damn them closing down Westwood studios!). However over the years their quality of games has gotten better and the quantity has gone down, with some game series being dropped entirely. Seems Activision went around and got their hands into everything EA left behind and have continued to milk all the companies dry since and want to charge everyone extra for everything.

Re: Third-String COD Developer Launches Website

The only thing that gets me about EA is the online servers, but as you both have said, they're improving. They seem to be more for the gaming community than the money now.

The whole EA account to get online is a bit of a pain for some (Steve that i know of). However ive had no issues with it and most games ive played online that have been developed or published by EA have had little to no lag and been great. Battlefield Bad Company 2 was the latest one (really need to get around to playing that again).

Re: Third-String COD Developer Launches Website

I would still love if Infinity Ward made a new Call of Duty once every, say two years like it usually does. But Treyarch and Sledgehammer have got to go, that's too many Call of Duties, especially since they're never really smashing games to begin with, the big bucks come from Infinity Ward. But I'm glad to see EA picking up again, I really wasn't so impressed with Airborne, I think they made it.. a little too unrealistic, lol. And all of the Medal of Honors seemed like you were one guy winning battles on your own, kind of like Halo, which is another series that needs to be laid to rest..

Halo: Combat Evolved
Halo 2
Halo 3
Halo Wars
Halo 3: ODST
Halo: Reach

Call of Duty series has 19 games..

Maybe it's just Skate. It's really annoying how much it freezes online. And you've just reminded me about BC2. I haven't played it in weeks.

@Sean: Bungie said 6 more years of Halo. I think that's to much.
