Why do you think that? I love Family Guy. It's thoroughly entertaining.
The terrible, terrible jokes. Awfully predictable and tasteless, with absolutely no wit in any of the jokes. They're just grotesque abortions of comedy.

Unentertaining dross.

Re: tv shows

Well, that's your opinion. Let me just say that you may well be in a minority. Or at the very least a disproportionate enough ratio to keep it on the air.

Oh, and just so's you know, you're aligning youself with Cartman there, and he supports the holocaust.

You're always so dramatic about everything. I never said I wanted it off air at all. How am I aligning myself with Cartman by simply not liking a show? You're making no sense.

I still think Family Guy is a complete abortion of cartoons alike.

Re: tv shows

I'll admit that the newer episodes of Family Guy have seemed to lost it's touch a little, though it's still very funny. IMDB have it rated higher than 9 and they never give anything good ratings. Plus, it's been cancelled twice so they've cut out a lot of racism on TV. The DVD versions still have it though. I know it got practically all of its insipration off The Simpsons. But it's so much funnier and The Simpsons isn't good anymore.

"There's that guy that watched The Simpsons back in 1994 and wont admit the damn thing isn't funny anymore!" - Stewie Griffin.

@DS: How can you say there isn't any wit in the jokes? Obviously you've watched Family Guy for about ten minutes.

I watched Coming of Age last night. Didn't laugh once. That was terrible.

I've seen approximately 40 episodes of Family Guy. The only witty jokes were the ****takes of celebrities. Otherwise, it's just grotesque jokes you've heard IRL and better.

You're entitled to your opinion. Family Guy is like Marmite.

Oh! And he meant you were like Cartman because Cartman hates Family Guy. It's in a SP episode known as Cartoon Wars.

Cartman doesn't hate Family Guy, he doesn't exist for a start.

Inspiration? Is that what you call copying things from other TV shows?

One of two of the only full episodes of family guy I've seen has Peter become death. NEWS FLASH: An earlier episode of The Simpsons had Homer become death.

The other full episode of family guy that I've seen has some generic warehouse store come into town and drive all other businesses out. And earlier episode of South Park had Wal-Mart move into South Park and run all other businesses out of town.

Is it a coincidence that the only two full episodes I've seen were two of a small group of exact copies from other shows? The odds would say no.

family guy also fills much of its episodes with repetitive and nonsensical bullsh*t that they try to pass off as a joke. This often goes on for minutes at a time, and the only reason that it's there is because they can't think of any real joke(s) or plot progression to fill that time.

By the way, in case you didn't notice, I made a point of not capitalizing family guy.

Re: tv shows

Family Guy and South Park are both generally bad shows. However, once in a while they manage to produce a nugget of gold amongst the nuggets of **** they keep spewing out.

For example, The Night of the Living Homeless is just delicious social commentary and satire. One of, if not the, best South Park episodes I've watched. It's pure genius.

Re: tv shows

AMEN! Family Guy is awful, I watch it from time to time, but only for Stewie, otherwise I find it distasteful, I like South Park (Not that it is any more intellectual, but at least it doesn't have the same five minute long flashback/parody joke.)

Re: tv shows

Indeed. Most of the jokes are terrible, but from time to time some incredible joke or awesome popular culture reference shines through. And it happens frequently enough that I just can't find myself hating Family Guy.

family guy has the ocasional memorable episode, but i wouldn't say it's a great show through and through.

south park on the other hand.... i think is over 9000 times more intellectual than family guy. every episode manages to be different, and the show is hilarious 9/10 times.

Re: tv shows

South Park definitely satirises things and tries to raise points, so I'd agree that it is more intellectual than Family Guy. Saying that Family Guy isn't intellectual isn't an insult in itself, though. I thoroughly love stupid comedies that don't make any sense whatsoever. It doesn't have a message, it and almost all the jokes are interchangable. I still love it because of it's randomness.

I agree, but I still find it funny sometimes and do watch it occasionally. I mean it`s not something i don`t watch at all; as Tsuyu said, it has its moments.
I generally like South Park more, though.
The quality of The Simpsons just vary too much - some seasons are crap (and seen 10000 times) and other seasons are so much different and good.

On another note - all hail FUTURAMA and SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!
