Twilight

I know I'm reaching on this one, since the majority of you are men and you are all probably going to yuck me, but has anyone here read the Twilight series? Yes, I'm being stereotypical but I'm curious to see if any of you have read it. I've just finished the series and I enjoyed it.

For those of you who don't know, Twilight is a book about a girl who falls in love with a vampire and her journey with him. Again, don't yuck me. :P

Re: Twilight

- No.

I was going to ask what twilight was but then I read the rest of your post.

Re: Twilight

I'll admit the writing was pretty straight forward and pretty bland. I thought it was nice how Edward was soft for a human. Yeah, it was a little unconventional for vampires but this is from someone who was a fan of Buffy and Angel. :P

Re: Twilight

I never really liked any of the characters, Twilight the movie was semi-good... I still can't wrap my mind around how an undead creature that needs to steal human blood to keep its organs active and not rotting can live off of a moose.

If I remember correctly, I think the author goes into it more in the books. Something like animal blood has similar some-kind-of-nutrient as human that works but doesn't make them as strong.

I read them all... they... were... HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!! Poor grammar and writing, boring characters and completely destroyed what vampires are!

My friends and I bought the first book and took a red pen to it. We wrote all over the margins and basically scrutinized it for all of its blatant idiocy and teenage angst. That copy is certainly more fun to read now.
Before it was marked up, no it was quite hard to get through. I hate vampire romance. It's pathetic.

Re: Twilight

After watching the film, the books always seem to be worse... Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter..

Twilight the Movie sucked terribly and the books... Omg.

Re: Twilight

I bought twilight to see what all the fuss was about. Its an ok story I guess but I dont really care for it.

Re: Twilight

....
I am decidedly not a fan. I was dragged to opening night of the movie by a friend. I had never before even heard of the series so I thought "it might be cool, I like vampires and all the stuff she said was in the books. Sure, I'll see this movie with you."
...
I was lied to. It was quite possibly one of the most disappointing movies I've ever seen. And I haven't read the books, so I really can't contribute to that part of the topic, aside from the fact that the friend who took me to the movie happens to be an English teacher... She says it's a good story, but the books are horribly written. I'll take her word for it, since I will not ruin vampires for myself...
Also, Twi-hard's terrify and annoy me, and every one I see, makes me hate the series even more. Ironic how the people who love it so much are the very people destroying it. (even though it wasn't much to begin with...)
..
Yeah, I suppose that's all. ^^

It's funny you actually went to the effort of reading them all, even you thought they were horrible. Most people of that opinion would have have stopped after the 1st one, if they even managed to finished it!!!

The movies are never as good as the books, but they are more convenient!!

Re: Twilight

^Neither am I, I prefer games and movies, though I read books when I am in the mood, and I do read lots of articles...

I am ashamed to say my gf (recently ex) gave me all four at the same time So I decided to read them all... Again they werent bad... Just HORRIBLE grammar and poor characters, the overall storyline (If they had removed to living off animals part) was good, it just needed a more expressive character... But I can't say anything about characters, if You have read any of my short stories you would know that most of my characters are fairly static just for my convienience O.o
