Sorry to read about it guys!!! Mine red ringed just after xmas in 2006, and it's been ok ever since. In the same week, I dropped my iPod, and my PC Motherboard crapped itself too. It was a bad week. it was like losing your 3 best friends all at once. luckily, i still had my old Xbox, MP3 discman and my laptop.

Its always a sad day, but they are quickly revived and back to you free of charge (if in warranty period).

Normally early model 360's with the older chipsets. Newer 360 have new motherboards and chipsets in them that have a less chance of getting the RROD.

This never happened to me, I just fried the insides of mine I guess. They couldn't fix it so they sent a replacement console. They took mah old baby! NOOOOOOOO!!!!

At least it might be less RROD prone.

pft, they sent me a replacement (took their sweet time too) and it ringed withing about a month. :getlost: I got the damn elite spicificly to avoid that problem. I ended up buying a new 360 and getting the replacment plan to avoit all the bull****.

My friend has had so many problems with the repair service he had to buy a total of 3 Xboxes. :lol: One RRoD on him, then the other one didn't even last a year before the E74 error, then he just bought his new one.

depends on whats wrong with it and if its still under warenty. even if the warenty is gone if it red rings they will fix it for free.

come to think of it, Im actually on my 4th xbox, my first one wouldnt read discs when I got it home so I brought it back.

a little off topic but I just thought of a semi-naughty joke about the xbox.
