Marcus, Dom and Wesker Team Up For Fresh LP2 Screens

Shots of nefarious Resident Evil antagonist, Albert Wesker, fighting alongside Gears of War's meat-headed co-op buddies Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago in Lost Planet 2 have emerged from X10.

You may remember the initial announcement that the Gears duo had smashed their way into the game at the end of January, but these first proper shots are box fresh.

It's like some bizarre alternate reality where game characters arbitrarily meet in someone elses game, for no apparent reason. What's next? Sonic in a Mario game? Wait a minute...
There are five new screens in the gallery, which you really ought to check out.

Games company are desperate for sales so are using some well known faces to try and entice people to purchase their game perhaps?

Must be a multiplayer promo thing. Maybe just hints at gears 3 and another game in the Resident Evil franchise.

Since the Lost Planet 2 demo was terrible, they thought "I know! Let's stick in two amazingly awesome characterinos from an epic game to get some sales!" But no. It's not going to work.

I'm not surprised, as it's nothing that hasn't been done before. Cliff Blezinski was going on about this on his Twitter page.

Or just company friends having fun with their franchises. Naughty Dog & Insomniac do this all the time with each other, in fact.. they're doing it right now with Uncharted 2 by having KIllzone 2, InFamous, and Resistance characters playable in Uncharted 2 via DLC.

Konami did the same with Ubisoft by allowing Altair's costume unlockable in MGS4, and vice versa.

Having fun is fine so long as they dont cross over the games stories and try to make serious plotlines from it. I wasnt impressed with Lost Planet and i got it for free so cant see myself getting the sequel. Then again im not Capcoms biggest fan.

Oh yeah, definitely. I'd find it ridiculous if the Gears trio make a cameo in LP2 to save the day, instead of just being unlockable skins/characters for single-player & multiplayer.

First Marcus and Dom...and now Wesker? Chuffin' nora. Who's next to be recruited into the Lost Planet 2 team roster - Sonic the Hedgehog?

Actually... I might buy the game if Sonic is in it... lul.
