Let me give ya'll opinions that ive found all over this forum
Some people like it becuase it looks like Garths robes, makes you look more "magicy" probably becuase of the scrolls etc on the side, it goes well with alot of other clothing items and is a very rare coat becuase not everyone has pub game
Some people DONT like it becuase it looks stupid, everyone speculates about it too much and becuase its not very unique
Overall its a good item to have and there isnt another coat similar to it in all of Albion despite what some people say.
But then again its all down to personal opionion

Why doesn't someone make a new Hero, find the coat, trade it off to a trusted friend, get that friend to trade it back to the original owner's MAIN Hero (so now he has 2 Coats), that guy will then have one to keep and one to sell.
I would do that if I could get it...
