Because as far as I know, it hasn't been confirmed anywhere that you get the code the moment you pre-order the game.

Well my friend pre-ordered it, and he got his code right as he got his receipt.

Could have been a mistake but no one else has received theirs as far as I know. In fact, I just checked my receipt to see if it was on there and it's not. I'll ask but I seriously doubt you get it the day you pre-order it.

I sure as hell didn't get my codes, I even asked at Gamestop and they said you get them when you come to pick up the game.

just talked with my local gamestop. they said were supposed to get the codes the day of the release. i guess itll work out fine

That's what I've been told (not by GameStop) but I am heading there either tomorrow or Saturday so I'll find out when I get there. I'll let y'all know what they say since I sincerely doubt each GameStop is doing it differently.

I guess it depends from one store to another, either locally or not. Mine will be given as I get the game.

You do realize that, that villager gives you an exclusive quest, right? You may want to hold off on killing him/her until you complete it.
