Ever realized how most older games you thought had an epic storyline sorta doesn't, upon closer inspection? For example, I love Baldur's Gate II and I've always recalled it having the most epic storyline ever...

...until I recently played through it again and realized it is in fact predictable and cliché.

Alpha Centauri was one game with an awesome story, I still love that game, play it every now and then.

Because people in general aren't critical of things like a storyline due to their lack of intelligence, so they fill a game with the same cliches as the last 5 games released within a week because people seem to like that sort of thing.
