While it would take a staff member to prove it, I don't think it's somedude (somedude21 was the original sign-on of McBob that I remember). He was just mildly annoying, but this guy stinks of a different troll camp.

Actually Somedude is the only person I ever pur on ym ignore list, and Gunman is on my ignore list, so he is Joe McBob... And I agree, I always feel calmer when bieng worked on by a nurse...

Re: why i hate the world

During World War 1 they used female nurses exclusively to work on the wounded soldiers, believing that it would have some effect on calming down the injured soldiers ect ect.

There might be something primal behind it all, from the times where men did the fighting/hunting and got injured while the women stayed in the cave to tend to the children/injured...

And you won't complain and show signs of pain or fear.

Re: why i hate the world

I had a tooth extraction about a week ago, and it took only 3 seconds to pull it out. However, the numbing effect lasted 3 hellish hours. I couldn't eat because the left side of my mouth was numb, and I sure was hungry.

In that case, those guts are the only thing in your mind so male or female makes no difference anyways.

How do you know? Much of what happens when it comes to male-female interactions is subconscious.

I don`t, but with an injury as severe as this I doubt they have much time to slow down and interact with each other.
Or do you mean that simply seeing a female nurse is going to prevent the patient from going into hysteria (eh, what a harsh word)? Perhaps.

Re: why i hate the world

Something like that. I've not studied a lot on the subject, I merely know that they brought in female nurse only to assist the field doctors because it supposedly had an impact.

Re: why i hate the world

All I`m saying is that a female in the field might have been a distraction.
Although I do get what the Germans were trying to do and from an "injured point of view" this probably works.

Eh, I don`t really know. I guess there`s a fine line between keeping the morale up and distraction.

Not like they were fighting at the front wearing bikinis. They were staying in the various field hospitals, obviously.

Actually it was the Allies.

Well, obviously.

Ah, I thought you said Germans, which you didn`t, but I for some reason assumed it was them. Strange... Psychologists would have a serious dig on this one.

Not very familiar with WWI, though. It`s not as exciting (do not read pro-war from this) as WWII was, because it mostly involved long, tedious and exhausting trench battles where soldiers were soaked in water, blood and the remains of other people for long periods of time. Was psychologically more damaging to soldiers than the Second one I believe.

Re: why i hate the world

If it weren't for the various war crimes, and The Holocaust, nobody would ever think of WWII as terrible as WWI.

Those trenches very, quite literally, hell on earth.
