Wii should be current gen.

F**king laptop refreshes every time I change tabs, so I'm going to keep this short and sweet.

-Same hardware limitations as the PS2 (Rockband for the Ps2 and Wii are nearly identical)
-No hard-drive - closest you can get is an SD card, which have very very little storage.
-Not nearly as powerful and the 360 and PS3.
-Gets shafted a lot, mainly by big gaming companies - Oblivion and the like will never be ported to the Wii.

I could think of more, but this paradox has been in my mind for too long and I had to voice it. So yeah, Wii should be classified with Ps2, GameCube, and Xbox.

Generation doesn't mean hardware capability. GameCube preceded the Wii generation-wise, wouldn't make sense to have both consoles in the same tier. And it's like Nintendo consoles to get 'shafted' as they rarely, rarely license games that deal in 'excessive' amounts of violence. Dude, Mario, even if it wasn't a Nintendo franchise, you'd never see Mario on the PS* or XBox.

Yeah, Nintendo always was the more family-friendly game maker - however, they do have games like GTA and FF on the DS so I'm not sure if they're still cemented in the whole 'family-gaming' theme they were into for so long.

Plus, they had Turok and RE if I remember correctly.

wii is definitely current-gen...

the gamecube was inferior to ps2 and xbox in hardware as well. that doesn't mean you would call it the same gen as (god forbid) the n64....
nintendo has always been behind the times and made it up with fun and easy to pick up games-sorry, sequels.
