would i like bioshock?

i loved fable more than any game ever, i also loved assassin's creed, and the darkness. i was thinking of trying bioshock, but my cousin says it sucks, but he doesnt know much of anything anyway. so i was wondering, should i try bioshock? i love rpgs and shooters, is that where bishock fits in?

Bioshock is a fantastic game and id highly recommend it and i think you would like it.

PS The Darkness is one of the most underrated games ever.

To be on the safe side rent it out first and then if you enjoy it go ahead and buy it thats what I did

I wasn't a big fan of BioShock to be honest. Gorgeous graphics but the gameplay didn't really interest me. BioShock did get zillions of great reviews though and everybody I know loved it so maybe it'll be your thing, too.

I'll tell you this, Bioshock is a great game. I loved it until i beat it, everybody that loved bioshock and then beat the game should understand what im talking about. but, i would recommend renting first, like all new titles that cost you 50-60 dollars, its better to spend 5 first to see if its really worth it for you.

by the way, the darkness was horrible... sorry. looked great, played real bad.

try these games out if you havnt already.
Call of Duty 4, Super Mario Galaxy, Blue Dragon, The Bigs, Mass Effect, Grid, Dirt, etc etc etc.

well i thought the darkness was fun, until the end, seriously what the hell kind of end was that? thanks for the recamendations i will definetly try bishock now. i only mentioned the darkness cuz i just resently got and beat it. it wasnt what i expected, but it was alright.

Yeah I thought it was fun until they ruined it by putting the shocker to close near the beginning of the game (for those who have played the Darkness should know what I mean, and for those who have yet to play it I wont go into details).

I don't really like how it plays out and is set up, it's not my type of game.

Bioshock is a "heavy" game. The philosophical questions it raises and all that is awesome. Especially if you know of Nietzsche and Ayn Rand and what they represent. Gameplay wise... well, if you've played any of the Dark Messiah games, it's about the same, mixing melee/magic/guns(bows in DM), but to me the story and that which came with it is what made it one of my favourite games of all time.

The somewhat scary thing about Bioshock is that the values presented within the game is really what both Ayn Rand and Nietzsche (and the many people today who follow their philosophies and stuff) believe in.

Heck, even I do to some extent, but in a far less extreme way.

edit: argh! it happened again!!!!! oh and iv never actually herd of those people that you mentioned. but i will definetly try bioshock now. did i already say that?????

How can you say that? :O The game was superb, story was fantastic and excellently executed. The shooting was satisfying and the execution moves were nice. The Darkness powers were quite nice too, i felt really engrossed in the world and was genuinely shocked in some parts of the game. The online was badly done though, although i havent tried it myself but it was a game made for its single player. Was the first game for some time to get my emotions going, i got genuinely angry at one point in the story, in a good way as thats what you were meant to feel. I cant wait until the sequel comes out, hope it captures the feel of the first and improves on some of the shortcomings.

The World War I part of The Darkness scared the crap outta me, very well done.
