Xbox 360 vs PS3

Considering the xbox 360 is only the second model of xbox, shouldnt be compared to the ps2 because that is the second playstation model? People say PS3 is better than Xbox 360, but they should be comparing it with PS2, which in that case, Xbox would be better. So let's say the rumors are true and the are making an Xbox 720, that should be compared with the PS3, which no doubt would be better. Any thoughts?

I don't mean to be too straightforward about it but, this is a Fable 2 forum. My best guess would be that most everyone here prefers Xbox 360.

And btw, consoles are compared based on their generation. It wouldn't be fair to compare Xbox 360 to PS2 because the PS2 is in an earlier generation than it. Just because Microsoft started making consoles later doesn't mean theirs should be compared to earlier consoles. And if you were comparing it to Nintendo, then it would be Xbox 360 v. SNES (based on your logic), lol.

Xbox hands down. It has a much wider variety of better games. It might be more susceptible to breaking, but it will almost always happen early enough for the warranty to still be in effect. I don't even care that the PS3 has blu-ray. Blu-ray is slow as sh*t. This is all as if it's being compared to the PS3, though.

And tbh, I really don't care if online is free on the PS3. Xbox 360 has more players, more variety, and is overall better. Not to mention it only costs $50 a year (less then most, if not all online games). And I hate how the PS3 came up with a complete leech of Xbox's achievements.

I like both systems. But unfortunately, the PS3 lacks the variety of games the Xbox has. The PS3 is a great media machine and an excellent system, you can't deny that. I'm guessing it doesn't break down as much as a 360, but I can't be 100% sure on that. And the online community lacks comparing it to the 360. But it is free, so there is a big plus. And another big plus: on the PS3, you can use your own hard drives. So awesome. I hate the ripoff prices for 360 drives.

All in all, none is better than the other, it is just what you want to use it for. But if you are an online gamer, 360 is for you.

Well, if we're going to continue with the PS3 vs. 360 debate.

For me it's neither, both have their strengths and weaknesses along with their similarities which evens them both out.

^yes exactly. and plus with the more money they have, the better they can make the system and online play. i doubt sony is making as much of an income
