If you are one of those that fully enjoyed Fable 3 and had no issues with it, turn back now.

If you, like me, felt ripped off by a buggy and incomplete release, then join me now and take up the cause!

I propose a boycott of the Fable 3 DLC. If you preordered or bought LE items or products already, by all means redeem and use your content, but as for the "Black dye" pack, the Industrial Knight armor, the Understone pack, and whatever else they may try to sell us along the way I hope you will join me in a boycott of Fable 3 content. Let's show Microsoft/Lionhead, and the entire video game industry, that it is not an acceptable practice to push the release of a glitchy and incomplete product in an effort to line their own pockets (much like the rushed release of the XBox 360 itself. RROD anyone?). Then to cut simple content, like black clothing dye, just to make a few more dollars at our expense is a slap in the face on top of that.

I, myself, will be spreading the awareness for this cause across whatever forums and networks that I can and if you would like to join me, I'll gladly accept your help.

For the record, I am a Fable fanboy. I love this series and I hate to see it go this way. I preordered the LE of Fable 3 and have partially enjoyed it. It still does not change the fact that this game is neither what we were told it would be, nor what we as a video gaming community deserved for our hard-earned wages.

Viva la Revolution!

Well I'll pretend to join, but that's just because I don't want to buy any DLC anyway. I'm fine with what I was given really...

Also, they went out of their way to say that DLC is not cut content, it's added after the game was made.

I can say I'm Emperor of the Universe, that doesn't make it so.
That is true. But I don't quite get how that applies to what I said. I'm being about as effective in "boycotting" it as you, but I'm more likely to buy DLC if I'm unhappy with how the game is, but I still think that it can be fixed (how I think you feel). Though, I mostly do not buy DLC (except for Red Dead Redemption).

Just use really, really, really dark grey. Or really, really, really dark blue. Come on man.

They can say that the DLC content was never intended for intial release but I find it hard to believe that black dye, which was included in Fable 2 right out of the box, wasn't pulled in favor of making more profits. And as you can see from Arseface's comment its working....and that is a sad fact.

This isnt just about black dye, though. Its about making the producers of video games take stock of the product they submit to the public and making sure they aren't taking advantage of their consumers

This is so true. I wrote a pretty nasty review of Fable 3, also as a fan of the series. That said, overall it was enjoyable, just with many, many mechanic problems. However, I don't believe any of the problems can't be fixed without a patch (except a couple quests.) The dog running in circles, expression wheel, etc all can be fixed and added in patch 1.01, and there would be no need for boycotts or anything like that. Furthermore, like any other boycott or online petition, you're not going to get a whole lot of feedback. Go ahead and try if you want, but from personal experience, you're wasting your time. I'd suggest spending your time elsewhere, either on another game, or simply buy the PC version and mod it the way you like. The mod you want doesn't exist? Make it yourself! the community might appreciate it.

The thing is, customers have always been taken advantage of. It's nothing new. In my opinion it is just stupid to get so upset about this. Had you no knowledge of the DLC, I'm sure you would have been completely satisfied with the game. Yes, the black dye IS obviously a money-making scheme, but, if I got upset about every little thing in life that "wasn't fair/was taking advantage of me" I would be a very, very angry person. See, you need to realize that this is just the way businesses operate. It's not right, but they all do it--it will be a hard practice to stop.

Further, have you considered just sending Lionhead a sincere letter or email, explaining how you feel about this? A boycott really is not going to work, if the DLC was cut from the game as you claim, then a boycott is DEFINITELY not going to work. In that case, any money made would only be extra, and would have required no work to make.

To clarify, I don't support Lionhead or Microsoft's decision to do this, but I'm not going to criticize it either. DLC has proven to be a great way to make money, extra money, even. I just don't see why you are complaining about something "extra" when you already have a full game in front of you.

Its not a full game. Many, many of the people who bought it can't complete it. Like I said its not about the DLC entirely, its about bad business practice. The fact that it goes on, and has for a long time, does not make it proper business. They will always continue to get away with cheating consumers if we just expect and allow ourselves to be cheated. I;m saddened, but not surprised, that my fellow gamers are so apathetic about being pawns.

I bought they game, and was playing through and making complaints about it to my friends before I ever got online. I didn't see the other DLC when it was mistakenly put up. I learned about those when I decided to take my concerns about the game online and saw so many other people feelling the same way I do. Those things were merely insult to injury.

Wouldn't this be more effective on, say, Lionhead's forums?

You really need to remember that Lionhead is owned by Microsoft.

I'm with you 100%. I genuinely feel ripped off and honestly think it was a waste of money. I love Fable and all, but I really hope they fix this lack of content and give us free DLC if not a patch of the entire game. It's what we deserve. I shouldn't feel like I completed the game entirely after a week and not want to play it anymore. I don't even want to get all the achievements.
I will not be buying any DLC for this game ever.

Boom's right, it's not a full game at all. And the original post said that if you were content with the content of the game, then you don't have to participate. I didn't even know about any of the DLC but realize how little there is in the game.

You're right, but now they're just taking it too far. And why should those of us who realize that we're being taken advantage of suffer for those of you who don't care? It's not fair.
Actually, I honestly think this is way beyond how any business would operate, they're doing too much (or too little rather).

You're on a Fable fansite...
Right, and we're all fans here and realize the fact that we've been jipped of a potentially awesome game.

I believe Fable II was a much better game than III...it's hard to even think that they're from the same franchise.

Speak for yourself. I think Fable 3 is a million times better than Fable 2.

Each to their own, what is annoying me is how people are surprised or upset at the way the game turned out. I've said it hundreds of times, and I'll say it again, if you don't buy into the hype of Fable games, you won't be let down. Simple as.

Oh, I shouldn't have said it definitively...here, I'll edit it...

Well...empty promises are not okay...ever. And I, unfortunately, joined this after I played through Fable II several times, meaning: I was up on the hype that was on.

I guess you're right...*continues to pout in the corner*...

The game development process is hardly that black and white. Many of the features promised were in the game when they were promised but were stripped due to technical reasons. You're crying over nonexistent spilled milk.
