Tattoo or piercing?

Tattoo or piercing?

Not definite either way but want people's opinions: should I get my nose pierced (small stud, left nostril - not massive bull-ring or anything like that) or should I get a small tattoo?

Obviously I know all the usual "tattoos are forever", "piercings can get infected" stuff - I just want to know what people would think is better. If I got a tattoo it wouldn't be in a very prominent place - most likely lower back, shoulder or hip where it can get covered up if need be, and the tattoo would be something small and have significance (no giant cartoon characters for me, thanks).

Any opinions?

i think a tatoo is the way to go. i've always found small stud nose piercings attractive on girls...but a tatoo has a message attached. i'd say go with the one that actually says something and isn't just a decoration. get a tatoo!

I think a tattoo would be better. Just don't get anyhting that will haunt you later in life. Like if you got a tattoo saying,"I love brian" and then you broke up with that person then you have the tatto for the rest of your life(or unless you have expensive surgery)
That example was just a random one I thought of right now.

I'd actually go with a left nostril piercing because if you don't feel like having your nose different that day, you just take the stud out. But lip and eyebrow piercings are better.

Tats deffinitly. But watch out though. If you get fatter with a tattoo say, of a woman; that woman gonna gain a few pounds. It happened to my friend once.

Id say a tattoo but be absolutely sure of what you want first. If your still toying with the idea of whether to get one or the other at the moment then i dont imagine you have your heart set on a design yet.

Personally, piercings freak me out, just because I don't want to put a permanent hole in myself.

For some reason, tattoos DON'T freak me out. In point of fact, I intend (eventually) to get a remembrance tattoo of some sort.

So I'd go with a tattoo. Just make sure it isn't something you might regret one day.

Every time I think of tattoos my first thought is Steve-O :lol:

I have a couple of other things to say though... what are Steve's thoughts on this? And when you're done, pics or it didn't happen!

My main issue with a piercing is that I seem to react badly to foreign objects being inserted (cue the crude and filthy replies) - I had my ears pierced when I was about 16 and even though it was using surgical steel, they still got swollen and infected despite keeping them scrupulously clean. So getting my nose done could potentially do the same thing and at least with my ears I could cover them up...

Steve is happy with either option - so long as the tattoo is tasteful and I'm certain of it, he's fine with it.

No, I haven't picked anything yet - possibly may get my children's names in small cursive script but I'm not opposed to an abstract design of some sort. It's actually quite hard to decide on what I'd want done...definitely no colour though - just black for me.

And I'm definitely not going to Shady's either - if I want to look like a five year old went nuts with permanent marker I'd pop into Jessica's school...
