I would assume since this is a Fable Forum, a vast majority of it's community own or once owned an XBOX 360; the other group owning a Computer.

Something came across my mind. I always heard, "My XBOX messed up; My XBOX scratches my disks;" etc etc... all the same thing. Something about an XBOX 360 not fit for long-time use or something.

Well I was curious as to why, for my XBOX never messed up... ever. Until I tried an experiment. Now my XBOX has always been horizontal, and I never had a SINGLE problem with it.

So, I turned it vertical. My games began to freeze, I noticed smudges appearing on a few of them, LOTS of lag kicked in when it use to not, and I ALWAYS heard the fan blowing LOUDER than I ever heard one blow.

Turned it horizontal, and everything was fine. Not a damn worry in the world.

So how is YOUR XBOX 360 Console turned? Any common/peculiar problems with the system and its operation?

**Needless to say, I removed my games from the Console when altering the position.**

I keep mine horizontal and I have it elevated, sitting on a black plastic square-shaped thing...(hard to explain). I've never had a problem with it, so far.

So I think keeping it horizontal would probably make the XBOX 360 last much longer. I'd ask about the Black Plastic Square-Shaped Thing, however I do not want to annoy you.

I remember my 360 used to stand straight up. I also remember tat certain parts of certain games started not to works a properly. I do not know when it was at the same time, but it's very possible. It has been laying down horizontally for a while now, and nothing's wrong.
I'm not sure TJ, but there may indeed be a connection, here. :steve:

Very good then. After searching around the web (or Google to be non-asshole) it seems LOTS of people have trouble with XBOX's and more say it is vertical than horizontal.

Yay! We figured something out!

Not to mention, not being racist or anything if that applies, but may I ask where you're from?

I'm right across the sea, from the UK. NO NOT FRANCE, they always say that. >_>
I'm from the Netherlands, good sir.

Oh well nevermind. I figured you were from somewhere... non-English. Isn't UK Britain? Or something... I am NOT very educated in European matters.

Maybe I should have phrased that better... I mind I'm opposite of the UK, split by a sea. Because I am in the Netherlands, which is indeed not English. Even though we get it in school. Just like German... And French... And in some places Chinese... Or Spanish... Blegh.

Anyway, the reason I asked is because I noticed common errors a 'new person to English' makes.

First off:

certain parts of certain games started not to works a properly.

I mind I'm opposite of the UK,

They seem like something a 'foreigner' would type. I do not want to be racist or mean, I was only curious.

Anyway, about the XBOX.

All my games are freezing now.

In my brother's Uni dorm.

|:

Horizontal on-top of a wooden chest with plenty of breathing space around it. One downstairs is vertical though but never had any issues with that either.

Mines horizontal arcade first one they had on its side with a tv ontop of it. win.

Sometimes, when writing a sentence, I change what I initially wanted to say. This sometimes makes the structure rather odd... I should actually be good enough at English, to write properly, but the ever changing flow of mind results in just imperfect grammar.
And why do you keep saying you don't want to be racist? I see 0% racism in those posts, dude. Nor can I imagine how it could be interpreted as something mean. I know you were only curious. :P

Wait, all your games are freezing now? Uhm... Well that sucks.

Doggy style.

Missionary if I'm feeling really kinky.

Dammit Tyloric you beat me to it. Anyway, I have my xbox vertical and I never get any problems. Though I did get 3/4 of a red ring once, but I have't had it since.

Vertical, never had any heating issues. I have no convenient location where it can go horizontal.

...Diagonal...

Horizontal inside of my Entertainment center, not much breathing room, but I have had my Xbox 360 for nearly two years with absolutely no issues, I get lucky with electronics, none of the 'problem child' systems or phones I get ever seem to go bad.

Horizontal and sitting on an elevated cooling rack with lots of breathing room and an intercooler in a room that generally stays about 70 degrees. I'm protecting my investment. No problems.
