New 360 time.... AGAIN!

About 5 months ago my 360 started occasionally not reading disks. I cleaned it out about, took it apart and then blew out all the dust. Now its freezing up during game play and not reading disks again.
^That is my second 360, an "Arcade" edition

My first 360 was the first gen "Premium" edition (20GB **** yeah) bought in the last span of its life back in late 08. It started to read 360 games as a DVD player, telling me to put my 360 game in a 360, when i was in fact trying to play Oblivion.

I am thinking about getting just a 250gb one. i dont need any controllers and i dont want kinect

I've had the same 120g 360 "Elite" since '09.

Though lately it has been making a strange crinkling noise when it initially loads up a game. Ominous.

Had my launch 360 die on me after about 4 years but still got the replacement running now and I also have one of the 360 slims in the bedroom which is the console I use now.

My 20gb premium lasted me 5 years before I sold it due to lack of use.

Then SSX and Skyrim came out and I've got a slim. The only benefit I can see is the built-in wifi adapter.

Got my first 360 in late Nov early Dec.of 06 (died just before Fable 2 came out)

Second one (the one that's dieing now) some time in 08 (to play Fable 2 - Look at my join date )

And its on its last legs as of Oct of 12

New console a must have due date Nov 6 12 (for halo 4of course)

And Fable The Journey is right around the corner too is it not?

I feel for you, bro. My 360 Arcade just got RROD-ed. Great timing, really.

Did someone mention thermal paste? Its Arctic Silver, right?

The slim is sexier and I like the touch buttons, built in wifi adapter should have been in from the start but its probably the best thing about it. Also much quieter than any of the previous 360's ive had.

My first 360 stoped reading discs the day I got it, I took it back to the store and the one they gave me worked for a year or two before it red ringed. I sent it in to get fixed (they don't actually fix your xbox and send it back, they just send you another referbished 360) and worked for about another year and doesnt read discs anymore. The 360 I got to replace that one now belongs to my younger brother. Im a PC gamer now, and Im never going back.

I don't like seeing these kind of threads, they always make me feel so paranoid about my own 360.

I've had mine since 09 I think, and he's been no problem at all. Hope the ol'boy keeps it up.

But like I said now I'm all paranoid he'll RROD. Poor Sergei.

Not always, they sent my original back the first time then it died again after another year and then they sent me a refurb.

Not exactly on topic but my Ps3 is about to go I think, I can't drive fast on sleeping dogs without it freezing the game, can't play it like this. Had a good run with it though, lasted me nearly five years.
