My Verdict.
Altair. He's trained and has more skill with a blade. Though, Ezio is more agile and can move quicker... And can swim if things go incredibly sh*t.

Haven't played AC2 yet and didn't read too much for fear of spoilers so: Altair, better name and he doesn't sound/look liek a pansy. Though Ezio seems to know what he is doing better.
