Another Fable?

So, if they choose to make another Fable, where would they set the time period? If they made it much further into the future, it'd basically only have guns, and that would make swords and magic pointless for the most part. Maybe they could make a game set between Fable and Fable 2, or perhaps a prequel to Fable set in the Old Kingdom? Or they could possibly start a whole new storyline, and just keep some of the main points of the gameplay, since that's what a game is mostly about.

Re: Another Fable?

I'd really like to see one in between Fable 1 and Fable 2, preferrably before Oakvale is destroyed. I think that could be used well...but they might need to discard guns, which would disappoint a lot of people.

If they did it in the future, it would, as you said, make magic and swords a lot more pointless, thus making the gameplay suck.

The old kingdom time would be alright, i think it would be seriously interesting during the time of the first spire.

I don't know exactly, they have a lot of choices, but i would be disappointed if they pushed it further into the future, i want to examine the past a bit more than go even more in-depth future.

Re: Another Fable?

I wouldn't mind them dropping the guns. They are fun, but aren't that big of a deal to me really. I really like games set in the times of swords and armor, that's why I decided to buy Fable TLC for PC and start playing it again since I missed how much fun it was compared to Fable 2.

Yeah, dropping guns wouldn't hurt anything, i liked the bows before too. As long as they have something range, even if its just rock slingers! Lol
"Red Dragon Slinger" with the ammo "Goliaths Rock"

Re: Another Fable?

If they went into the future it needn't have to be cars and scyscrapers and whatnot. It could be a few years after the events of Fable 2, where things are roughly similar, or it could be a thousand years, when magic has taken an even more important role and people have relearnt some Old Kingdom techniques. Future in the Fable univernse doesn't have to line up with ours. = ]

Re: Another Fable?

I was thinking that maybe they would make another Fable game where you controlled the Archon of the Old Kingdom, and eventually kill the King and Queen. However, it would be more of an action/adventure game like Devil May Cry.

Different genre like how Halo 3: ODST is gonna be.

Re: Another Fable?

I don't really care for another Fable.

Re: Another Fable?

I really think a prequel to Fable based in the Old Kingdom would be great. Or maybe you could play as Scythe, but then you'd just be too ownage.

Yes, but i personally want to examine the past more than push into the future even more, i mean, to be around during the Oakvale satanist would be kick-A. And the Old Kingdom everyone loves.

Fable 3: Modern Warfare

also maybe they should have bombs, but they could be crappy 14th century ones

Re: Another Fable?

I think early 1800-industrialism could be pulled of nicely.

With a touch of steam-punk, and a lil' feodalism.

Re: Another Fable?

Wouldn't Albion be called England by that time?

I laughed a little.

Re: Another Fable?

How about just letting the stupid idea drop, and let Lionhead figure it out. But I really did prefer the Fable 1 combat system. I liked excelling in one area and not smoothing all of them out in a smooth combat style. Sure, it looked cool, but it was sort of stupid. I missed the regular sheathing and attack system. Now you press a button and it it already time to kill. You pretty much have to have you weapon sheathed 98% of the time.
