Anyone recommend a good PC game?

Just got a new graphics card, and I feel like testing it out....

Something not too RAM or CPU intensive, though.

EDIT: I like FPSs, RPGs, Action Adventure....

Re: Anyone recommend a good PC game?

Actually, the games focus on RAM and CPU anymore rather than graphics. You should try some good games like Age of Empires, Age of Mythology, Empire Earth [looks at the left], Diablo II, Grand theft Auto Vice City, Starcraft, Starcraft 2.

Re: Anyone recommend a good PC game?

My personal favs are Sid Meier's Pirates, Rome Total War, Spore, Diablo 1&2 and Battle For Middle Earth 2. Though I'm quite a softcore PC gamer, don't get many games on pc.

Re: Anyone recommend a good PC game?

the two best for me will always be
Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
and
StarCraft (with expansion)

jedi academy is also good, but not quite as good as outcast.

Re: Anyone recommend a good PC game?

Left 4 Dead?

Re: Anyone recommend a good PC game?

The Witcher.

Aaaaand Assassin's Creed.

Re: Anyone recommend a good PC game?

Diablo II, Half-Life 2, Unreal Tournament 2004, KOTOR.

Re: Anyone recommend a good PC game?

PC Games Eh?

Well CPU Issues?....:(

I suggest:
Half Life (Original)
Halo
Fable: TLC
Starcraft
Diablo II
Sims is always fun.

Umn....I would suggest others, but Iunno..

Re: Anyone recommend a good PC game?

^I want it so bad...
Starcraft is epic, but I wasn't sure if he liked RTS, if you do: Starcraft, Total Annihilation, Warcraft II, Warcraft III, Command and Conquer: The First Decade (Contains five very good RTS games with all their expansions, and an FPS which is fairly fun.)

Re: Anyone recommend a good PC game?

Amnesia: The Dark Descent; it's a first person, survival horror-puzzler. Great indie game, but quickly loses its "scary" vibe when you realise just how formulaic it is.

Re: Anyone recommend a good PC game?

Rating 1 - 5 (If I say two or one, it doesn't mean it is bad, just not epic)

http://www.devilstuningfork.com/ Three

http://www.commandandconquer.com/classic I believe all three games on this site are the full versions (EA had released them all for free because of the 15th anniversary of the franchise) Six

If you can splurge, again, almost every C&C game, even the newest one is very fun.

While I would recommend both, I think Jedi Academy is a little better.

Republic Commando is also really good. It's my favorite FPS. I don't even really like FPSs that much, but this one is damn good.

Doom 3 is fun too. It can sometimes get repetitive like most FPSs, but it's great if you like scary/suspenseful shooters.

Freelancer...oh my god. This is a great game. It's a little old, but it's my favorite RPG besides Fable and Pokemon. If you can find a good online community, it's even better.

Aye, however, both have its ups and downs. For instance, the single-player of Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast is much more enjoyable than that of Jedi Academy, while multi-player of Jedi Academy is, in turn, more enjoyable than that of Outcast.

That said, I concur. Republic Commando is a great game, and it's without a single doubt, a must-play. Beside that, some other good ones would be the KotOR series, Dead Space and, as aforementioned, Halo (Combat Evolved).

Re: Anyone recommend a good PC game?

Thanks for the reply guys!

I've already played a few of the games suggested (both Jedi Knights, Rome and Medieval II: Total War, Halo, Fable (duh), Tiberian Sun, Spore, Pirates, Sims). I was more looking for something I hadn't played. Most of the new suggestions are going in the maybe pile.

I don't like zombie games, or survival horror in general.

I like some RTSs, but I'm just coming off a recent Black and White 2 binge, so I'll probably stay away from that genre for a bit.

Oh, and +rep to everyone who replied :D

EDIT: What about Dragon Age? I played it a bit a while ago, but the HUD was difficult to use, and it seemed pretty cliche-Tolkien-fantasy-RPG. Does it get better?

Re: Anyone recommend a good PC game?

I hear Dues Ex..or whatever is good. :P

Re: Anyone recommend a good PC game?

Basically anything by Valve, I'd buy the complete pack off of Steam

Re: Anyone recommend a good PC game?

Ahh, Starcraft brings back good memories. Dune 2000 is another good one.
