I don't think while your father's dieing you would stop and ask if you can take a hammer from a statue. I actually think they let her to keep the hammer too. The hammer is also a symbol of the Temple of Light.

Wait a second...

Isn't it curious how The Temple of Light has a hammer as a symbol yet they claim to abhor violence?

Re: As for Hammer...

It has something to do with beating back the darkness or something. The hammer is a metaphor or something...

Re: As for Hammer...

Damnit...I just remembered where I saw that information...popped the game back on and found the statue that said exactly as Arc so succenctly put it.

'This statue commemorates how the symbolic hammer of light demolished the outdated beliefs of old albion. it also commemorates the real hammer that was used to demolish the temple of avo.'

Edit : It's a wonder how my mind immediately drew the conclusion that 'symbol' means light good, darkness bad...grumble grumble

She had a dynamic personality, one of the few characters that showed a wide range of emotions, had several character flaws (ex. everything was new and that showed a lot of her internal conflict this seems to correspond with her being 'the pilgrim' in tarot I believe it's called 'the fool' which when examined gives you a pretty good depiction of who she is), she had a reason to fight, we found out things she liked and disliked. Strong, smart, courageous...this is personality. Kind to animals.

I don't think it was her lack of personality that turned you off. Rather her inability to adhere to a typical female archetype : skinny, ditsy, damsel in distress or femme fatale.

I liked that they made the hero of strength a female not your typical big armed, sh!t bick house, dumb ass dude, I found it clever and a good twist.

Reaver (voiced by the brilliant Stephen Fry) was an ass hole out to save his own ass, Garth was cool and calculated when he was knocking on deaths door in the spire, hammer was just there…a very forgettable character

Re: As for Hammer...

it would be nice to see hammer again, she was one of my most favorite characters, along with the will user (yeah, i forgot his name. sorry!), teresa, and the ghost that asks for revenge.

"You treat her well, or i'll haunt ya!" Ha! ghostly humor.

Re: As for Hammer...

She was just kind of annoying. And she was the worst fighter ever. Even with a giant hammer she was pretty much useless.

Re: As for Hammer...

I probably just need to stop...

She wasn't useless you were probably just so powerful at the point when you finally get to fight along side her that you no longer needed her. Gun fighters and will users don't need anyone's help. Seriously, a gun fighter takes out enemies long before they become a threat, will users just nuke the crap out of everything.

Garth knocked enemies down half the time... Ok, do you know how annoying it is to be a melee specialist in a big fray and have Garth knocking down everything?

Reaver shot things often enough (and probably helps the most if your a melée fighter) but for either will or guns he won't be doing much more than picking off the lame while you take on the army.

Not to mention several major fights where Garth runs off to charge a cullis gate or cast random spells at a shard. How is that helpful?

She can hit multiple targets, floor a single target, floor finish the enemy, and knock baddies off ledges. What's the problem?

Re: As for Hammer...

But almost everytime she swung her hammer at something she would miss her target because it's so heavy that it takes her too long to swing lol!

I suppose She was useful in the sense that She looked after Your dog though..

QUOTE=Recycled Human- will users just nuke the crap out of everything.

Aint that the truth? A perfect analogy for a Will user.

+rep for You.

Re: As for Hammer...

True true, she was useful in that sense. In that she was a good dogsitter lol. But I meant she wasn't useful in battle even though her weapon was a massive hammer!

Re: As for Hammer...

When i did the road to wescliff in fable 2, she just ran at the balverines, got knocked out straight away, and i had to kill them all. Absolutely useless. And im sure theresa would have made a better dogsitter

Should have specified. I meant : is the only reason people are raging against hammer because she was muscular?

I'm practically her no. 1 fan.

Men don't like it when women have bigger muscles than they do. Just like women don't like it when men have slimmer figures.

Never happened to me. I always use her as a tank to drain the Balverine damage and I simply roll all over the place and shoot to the balverines.

In the cave, I simply, keep rolling and I shoot at the balverines. Though I use my sword when they get too near, however I prefer to fall back and fire them with a ranged weapon.

Balverines are way too powerful in face-to-face combat, unless you want to turn out with a few scars or you love rolling all over the place as I do.

However, Hammer's a powerful hero, especially for the time that Fable II is set, finding a hero of strength is really hard and rare, I wonder how she achieved such muscles and combat experience.

Re: As for Hammer...

I thought the balverine damage was fine. You're given enough warning before they attack to dodge it. All you have to do is roll (as you said) and the the Balvie is ****ed (especially if they do that one where they stand in the same place and swipe at you 10 times).
