Avatar: The Movie

Not sure if someone made a thread about this, but im going to express my opninion about it.

I loved it, Incredible movie, one of top 5 movies ever, deffinetly a must see!

And the great thing was i saw it in 3D! It was soooo awesome! I love the concepts and the art into it, I got attached to the movie, like when
The bad colonel guy at the end is killing the main guy and the girl, and you just want jack (main guy) to kill him, but he doesnt! But then finally he dies! ARH! It was starting to **** me off and I wante to jump in th emovie and slit his throat. :)

So yeah, 10/10! Must see it, especially in 3D.

^ Thats probably why I like it so much, I love my Trees, Mountains, Waterfalls and rivers! The creatures are awesome in it too.

Its beautiful.

But you should go see it, then judge it.

It looks like environmentalist eye-candy and nothing more.

This is exactly what it`s meant to be. No one watches it for the plot anyway.

I`m going to see it in this or the next week, in 3D of course.

Re: Avatar: The Movie

I thought you died.

I watched it just today, actually, and in my opinion, there was not enough alien nudity. Otherwise, it was a good film. Only regret is not watching it in 3D. Actually, I think being one of those Na'vi guys would be a real hoot.

Oh yeah, and Sam worthington is an Aussie. A real Aussie too, not yer Hugh Jackman or your Eric Banna. Don't get me wrong, I love those guys, but this guys got a bit of working class about him. Great guy.

Re: Avatar: The Movie

I saw it in 3D. It was awesome, and TRA rotid, this is made by James Cameron, so you can be pretty sure its not going to be just eye-candy.

10/10 for me

Re: Avatar: The Movie

I half saw it in 3d yesterday, it has a good story from what I could tell but the 3d is fairly average, not that impressive. Its not like super 3d, just 3d consistently when it doesn't need to be if that makes sense? :ermm:

Re: Avatar: The Movie

Ok.... Ive seen this movie twice now, once in 2d and once in 3d.

First time was in 2d, and obviously it was good enough for me to go back and watch it again - normally I detest ANYTHING with 3d written on it, it usually feels like a tacked-on pointless extra that is only used to entice 12 year olds to the film. So the film in 2d was really good - the plot wasn't great, it was pretty predictable, but I LOVED the visuals. The Na'vi bodies looked amazing, unlike normal CGI crap, and the setting was unbelievable.
However, the Army guys were just plain annoying - shouting out bad one-liners while hipfiring huge machine guns into the air isn't my idea of a good movie.
Overall 2d experience - 7.5/10

I went to see it in 3d after I read that 'you have to see it in 3d, that's the whole point of the technology' and loads of annoying junk like that. So I sat down with my popcorn, took the glasses and sat back. Wow. Amazing. Really, the last 3d film I watched was the new Final Destinatino film, which even the rare bits of 3d were AWFUL. However, this 3d actually did immerse you into the film. It wasn't just one thing that came out, it was alot of the picture, with different depths. When the guy is discovering the animals, the panther like thing springs forward as the guy runs backward, and it was epic. Really, really good.

3d: 9/10 (Just missing the extra point because of the horrrible Army-guys' bad one-liners.)

It is a really good film, next experience for me is going to see the 3d version stoned - almost got there last night but got sidetracked by trying to find an open Subway at 2 in the morning.

No it really doesn`t
Haha, I mean it is just consistently 3d, every scene and every second. But it doesn't need to be because you can't really tell the difference between it and 2d unless you look for it.

It isn't "super 3d" in that it doesn't have any moments where it feels like an arrow is coming out of the screen or shrapnel barely missing your head. It's just fairly consistent with same old, boring 3d.

Maybe true, but I prefer that. Random 3d added in places, just like you said, with stuff flying out of the screen isn't as effective, IMO, as a more subtle experience. Final Destination 3d was ****E. There was one bit where golf balls were flying out, and I thought, 'What is the point?' Cameron worked for over 10 years developing technology that would allow that sort of 3d, and I think it turned out really well.
