Wales has been part of Britain since 1535. It's no more a separate country from the UK than Maryland is from the United States (maybe less so), and on top of that no matter what you say, it still exists on the island of Britain. I did not say, nor did I imply (if you had actually read my post,) that I believe Wales to be part of England

And they DO, evidently, play cricket.

No argument that it sucks, though.

EDIT: Firis made me giggle. And probably made me grateful that Hexadecimal isn't here anymore. Though maybe she'd have agreed.

EDIT2: And actually it's almost a good analogy. Wales is on the island of Britain. Canada is on the continent of North America.

What's that got to do with anything? I know. I said it wasn't apart of England. Not the UK.

When I said America, I meant the USA. The country, not the continent.

And if you ask a Canadian if they're American, they'll say "No. I'm Canadian." just like if you ask a Welsh person if they are English, they'll say "No. I'm Welsh."

I didn't say Canada wasn't apart of America. But being Canadian and being American are different. Yes?

It's only the yanks that call us British. If you ask a 'British' person where they are from, they'll specify their country - they'd never say Britain.

I didn't call you or any Welsh English. I made a joke that I would-- I didn't because I am at least partially aware that doing so would be unneccesarily obnoxious-- the same as someone calling me a Virginian, or possibly someone calling me a Southerner. Nevetheless, that does not alter the fact that the country called the United Kingdom supersedes the national subdivisions called Wales, England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Or, for that matter, Cornwall. (Or, why the hell not, the Isle of Man) (EDIT2: And yes, I am also aware that the political status of Cornwall differs from Man and the rest, and Man differs from them all.)

I was aware of that.

And I am aware of that, as well. I never claimed it was part of England. You. Did. Not. Read. My. Post. Which is why we're arguing now.

EDIT: And this thread is being wildly derailed. Since I don't think I can delete this post, please reply in a visitor message if you must, to prevent further derailment.

Right thread, just off-topic.

Mmmm, bubblegum. I have fond memories of selling Big League Chew to small children at the snack bar. And getting to read the whole time. While getting paid. It was awesome.

I always liked the green apple flavor. How 'bout you?

The hell, man? I was serious. I always liked the green apple. And I loved running the snackbar. Though the "small children" bit was a little unkind, since I was no more than ten or so at the time myself.

OH, that's right, you meant the first line. Ah, well, I was being pretty serious there, too, if it helps.
