There's a fine line between being aware that burying yourself in sand completely will kill you, and believing you can pop out the sand like a ninja on the very first try without any practice whatsoever.

I was very curious and imaginative when I was 10 years old, but I wasn't a fool... I had enough sense to know that being buried or jumping off a 2-3 story roof could kill me. I'm sure everyone else in this thread/forum would agree when it comes to that as well.

I commend you on that, but alot of kids don't always think things through. I know I always didn't. Also, some kids have yet to build that mental line between fantasy and reality. They do believe that what they see on tv can be accomplished without any technical assistance, so to speak. Around ten I had a friend who was crazy about Power Rangers, so much that he always tried to do all the crazy stunts like backflip off a car. Thank god he wasn't too harmed, but he sprained his neck so that his head held at an angle for a week. This process usually required a harness and wires, but kids don't know this.

Sadly enough, this is the only kind of evolution mankind has left.

We can treat almost any disease, and have no more natural threats agaisnt us, so the only way humanity evolves is by Stupid people dying and not being able to carry their Stupid genes further.

Im not saying the child was stupid, but even a 5th grader should be able to figure out that this was not very smart...

This is true. I would have to say the worst example of this is professional wrestling. Seeing as they don't use wires or special effects, but rather fake material and alot of practice.. but the kids who watch it every week aren't aware, especially those who believe it's 100% real. In fact, a year ago.. there was an accident down at the Watergate apartment building, in which two kids were wrestling on the bed.. doing crazy stuff, and had the window open. Next thing you know, he bounces off the bed and flies out the window (20 stories tall) and dies.

Man can only do so much, however the full parental monitoring of a child's freely wandering imagination... Man cannot.

You all have serious issues. Death is never anything to laugh about, including that of a kid. Kids that young are impressionable, and they have yet to experience enough of life to resist most urges that seem "stupid". Nobody can be blamed for this; the kid just wanted to do something cool that he saw, it happened to all of us when we were younger.

So True... I didn't like how some of the people who posted "laughed" away at his death. Just remember death will come one day to all of us, knocking on your door. There's no escape from death. The Truth hurts, but mocking a persons death isn't ... humane in my OPINION <---------------- MY OPINION , sure the kid may have been 'Stupid' or 'Naive' but the kid was just like one of us. He had a life... and he lost it. And some people stated that he deserved it?

Sure it may be asking for trouble but mocking death is un-acceptable.
I hate people who mock someone who's passed away. It pee's me off, everyone has a life, everyone has one chance, you lose your life, you've lost that chance. Life for all we know only comes once. After that there may or may not be heaven and hell but we don't know the anwser to that.

Just think guys for a moment.
What if that was your brother or sister or one of your parents or your best friend? Would you be mocking his or her death?

Amen. Again I'd like to point out that my little nine-years old brother is quite aware that it would indeed kill you, so kids at that age do (normally) have quite a lot of common sense.

Yup, my sister is ten and i'd be down right shocked if she thought it was a good idea, i'm pretty sure most kids of that age have gotten past that stage.

(oh look, i made a ryhme.)

Re: Child Dies form Recreating Scene a Japanese Anime Scene

guys!! what the hell!!! you joking and laugh at a dead kid. WTF. The kids dead and yet you take the ****. Dum thing to do but hey you shouldnt laugh at him. Imagine if it was a kid related to you and you came on a forums and saw everyone was laughing at him. You guys are sick and immature, grow up guys and act like real decent humans beings you are. I am ashamed of you guys

Re: Child Dies form Recreating Scene a Japanese Anime Scene

none of us really laughed at him. it is sad. but seriously, kids should have some kin d of common sense. and kids who buried him shouldve at least said it was a bad idea. or shouldve stopped him. although, they did pull him out when they realized something was wrong

Re: Child Dies form Recreating Scene a Japanese Anime Scene

Since when were we all cynics...? O.o

Seriously I would not have thought (at the age of ten) that having a few centimetres of sand above your head would be something you couldn't get out of if you needed too. It's just sand right? Seriously kids do stupid things, but thats easy to say when most of us are 5 - 15 years ahead of them.

Re: Child Dies form Recreating Scene a Japanese Anime Scene

everyone makes mystaics yet you seem to be abusive towards is death. A kid has died for goodness sake .wake up

Re: Child Dies form Recreating Scene a Japanese Anime Scene

If someone in my family had died in such a way id be more ashamed than upset to be honest. I mean even at that age i had some common sense and being buried is not a bright thing to do at all, the stupidity of some human beings is beyond measure.

yeah same here.

Re: Child Dies form Recreating Scene a Japanese Anime Scene

For once, I'm going to be rude:
Drop this superiority complex some of you folks have. *sarcasm* Not all children can be as intelligent as you folks seem to think you were at a young age *sarcasm*. What is the point of comparing your personal childhood to a child that died? So you can feel superior to a little kid? Get over yourself. No innocent child deserves to die and be ridiculed, regardless of how dull witted you seem to think he was. Enough.

Re: Child Dies form Recreating Scene a Japanese Anime Scene

Well said Meikkas.

Re: Child Dies form Recreating Scene a Japanese Anime Scene

Come on now. The child didn't use any common sense, and that cannot be denied. For those of you getting riled up over the people who are more bothered by boy's "stupidity" rather than his death really have no grounds to do so. You cannot lash out at people for calling the child stupid, because the truth is the child should have known better. And you cannot expect people to show any pity or sensitivity for the boy's death if they don't have it to begin with, nor can you expect them to throw a few fake words around just to make others happy. It's very understandable that a lot of you feel bad for the boy and his family, but don't lash out at those who don't and see it completely differently, because THAT is being immature.

Another thing I'd like to point out is the boy's playmates. How long were they sitting there starring at the boy under the sand? I'm sure he must have struggled or try to yell at some point, but those kids just sat and waited like lumps until it was too late. If anything, they were the ones who acted stupid in this whole ordeal.

Re: Child Dies form Recreating Scene a Japanese Anime Scene

These kids are ten years old. They don't know better! Don't judge a kids intelligence based on what you know; its an unfair comparison.

And I hate to think what the world is coming to when I'm being called immature for sympathising for the death of a ten year old who didn't know any better. Whether he should have known better or not is irrelevant, he's still dead.

I don't call you immature because you sympathize for a death, because it is a shame that he lost his life. I just think don't think everyone should be getting riled up over others who don't feel the same that they do. To me, that is immature.

I also don't believe being 10 excuses those kids from watching their friend struggle in the sand and doing nothing about it. That is something I think should click in every individual's head, especially when they're of the age of going to play outside unsupervised.
