LOL. Woops.

Well... I still stand by what I said.

Re: Child Dies form Recreating Scene a Japanese Anime Scene

I agree with Goretex. Don't take other people expressing their opinions personally. This is a place to tell others what you think, not to cut others down for doing just that.

And I'm sorry, it is upsetting for someone that young to die, but I don't feel pity for him. Maybe I'm a horrible person, but I can live with that. A ten year old should know better. Unless he was slow, he should have known that he has to breathe to survive. If he were younger, like five or six, then I would understand a bit more. But not ten. A ten year old is one year away from middle school. That is far too old not to use common sense. I know seven year olds that are more intelligent than that. I am not placing the blame on the boy alone. Perhaps his parents should have taught him more. And his friends should have known. It just goes to show you how far human intelligence is falling.

Stupidity will be that downfall of all of us. This is just one more example..... and will anything change... not a chance.

Not at first. At first they thought he was just imitating the cartoon character or something and left him down there. Not until he ceases struggling did they do something. I find it rather scary that none of the 5-10 or so kids he was playing with stepped in and said "Guys, this isn't a good idea..." before they buried him.

Oh yeah, I'm also not comparing his intelligence to what I thought mine was at that age, but to my seemingly a lot brighter little brother who is even one year younger than this kid. And he does know better.

Re: Child Dies form Recreating Scene a Japanese Anime Scene

Well, if they thought that then they also thought nothing was wrong, but thats just me nitpicking about the language used.

I know a 17 year old kid who probably wouldn't know that being buried under a couple of centremetres of sand wouldn't be enough to get out if you needed to. To be fair, he does, to use Borats words, "have a mental retardation," but hes actually quite bright, knowledge wise, just not sense wise.

Re: Child Dies form Recreating Scene a Japanese Anime Scene

its sad, all of you are right, but then again my friends cousin is 10 and he deffinetley knows that being buried under more than a few inches-centimeters of sand can definitley kill you...i agree with tsuyu, anyone that is at 10 years old should know better, even those 4 years ago when i was 10, i knew that when someone dies they're buried, which meant that if i were to be buried in dirty or sand i'd die, some people either do not know how to teach their children the difference between reality and fantasy or they're just idiotic parents....furthermore i believe the parents should be sueing the childs friends because they didn't think before they did that, and not only if i was that childs parent would i be mad at them , but iwould also be ashamed in my son for doing such a stunt, i mean really what is this world coming to, kids flying out of ten story high windows and kids burying themselves, is life really all that bad?

Re: Child Dies form Recreating Scene a Japanese Anime Scene

He probably knew it could kill him. He probably also thought that either a) he could get out if he needed to, or b) his friends would pull him out if he couldn't get out. He made an error. Can we stop saying that people need to be sued and kids need to be educated more? Everybody makes mistakes.

Re: Child Dies form Recreating Scene a Japanese Anime Scene

Poor Kid... Blast Naruto.
(Good show though)

Re: Child Dies form Recreating Scene a Japanese Anime Scene

I have been watching anime cartoons since i was 6 years old at least i had the common sence not renact anything from them

Re: Child Dies form Recreating Scene a Japanese Anime Scene

I'm still appalled that none of the ten or so other kids thought it was a bad idea neither.

Kids! Mistakes! Smaller Brains! *leaves room babbling and gesturing incoherently*

For once, I'm going to be rude:
Drop this superiority complex some of you folks have. *sarcasm* Not all children can be as intelligent as you folks seem to think you were at a young age *sarcasm*. What is the point of comparing your personal childhood to a child that died? So you can feel superior to a little kid? Get over yourself. No innocent child deserves to die and be ridiculed, regardless of how dull witted you seem to think he was. Enough.

like **** said well said, compleltly what i was trying to say

you would be ashamed. ASHAMED. of what, that a kid in your family died. thats is known as selfish. he was 10 forgoodnes sake.say he was your brother that had dyed died by burying themselfs you would be more ahsamed then upset incase people thought 'oo look andys brother died by burying himself lets all laugh at him' only mental people would say that.

If someone in my family had died in that way at that age id be ashamed... upset yes but also ashamed that they didnt have the common sense to realise it was a dumb idea. I mean he was 10 years old not 5 (as Goretex, Tsuyu and Keelee pointed out)... starting high school in 12 months and didnt think it was stupid to bury himself in sand and not one of the other kids thought 'hang on a second, this is a bad idea'...

If he was in my family and someone asked how he died i wouldnt know what to say if at the age of 10 he thought he could bury himself in sand and jump out like some ninja... amazing how many people these days whos IQ never surpasses their shoe size. Not laughing at him, just stating the fact that at his age he should have known better and even if he didnt at least one other kid should have.

I agree. The kid was 10 years old ... not 5 or 6. 10 year olds aren't idiots, hell my neice who is only 6, knows that being buried in sand will kill you. He should've known better, and he probably knew it would kill him, but went with it anyway due to probably having such a high opinion of himself.

I mean honestly, there are fools out there that believe they can dodge bullets at point-blank range, just as long as they put their mind to it and believe they can.

Re: Child Dies form Recreating Scene a Japanese Anime Scene

It's one thing when an adult who should know better does something like this, but it's another when a young child who has had his impressinoable mind moulded by something that everyone takes for granted and usually as fiction.

I'm not saying the kid was smart by any means but hes still dead and he certainly didn't deserve it. Can we stop saying he did?

Natural Selection... alls I can say..

Re: Child Dies form Recreating Scene a Japanese Anime Scene

Whatever I'm going to drop this argument.

Re: Child Dies form Recreating Scene a Japanese Anime Scene

Okay, I see it like this:

At 10 years of age you should already understand that you need air to live. And you should also understand that sand is not air. So with those two small, seemingly obvious pieces of information someone should know that you can easily die by getting buried under sand.

This same exact thing happened to a kid (whom I didn't know, he was just some 11 y/o) when I was vacationing at a beach once. He and his brother dug a pit in the sand and the boy climbed inside, the sand collapsed on him, and he suffocated. That is something I have pity toward, because he didn't have control over what happened. Just for reference I was 9 years old at the time, and I knew that something like that was a bad idea.
