From what I gather, Darksiders was either a tribute to every awesome game ever made or it was a ripoff of every awesome game ever made, and either way, it's all brought together in this melting pot that intricately pieced together the best aspects of each game. Whether it's a sort of encomium to these other games or if it's straight-up theft would probably depend on whether or not you like it. That said - my guess is that people will like it.
From what I've seen, I think it's alright. It wasn't so blatant that there was a Triforce emblem on everything. Which I think is a good thing. It looks like a Zelda game for adults. It looks like Fable done right. Time will tell... being a cynic, I'm sure it has potential to be god-awful.
