Re: DO NOT ENTER IF YOU HAVNT FINISHED HARRY POTTER 7

Right...I think I get it now, the aborted fetus resembles things that could be, but there's nothing you can do about it...because it's too late to care. It wouldn't make sense to put a random fetus under a chair...*flips through the pages* Honestly, I reckon it is the symbol of death, and things and people that could have been.

Crying Baby-Thing

Anyone else remember the fact that a large portion of the ending was that Harry
was a horcrux? Meaning that he contained a portion of Voldemort's soul? Meaning that it's rather likely that the baby-thing was the portion of Voldy-soul in Harry? Or was it just me?

Horcrux

And, speaking of Harry being a horcrux, was it just me or was it already somewhat... I won't say obvious, but visible at least, that Harry was a horcrux? I had thought that all along, at least since the horcruxes were revealed, simply because of the the fact that Harry had part of Voldy's "power?" I mean, what else was the whole thing in the (2nd book?) Chamber of Secrets, where it showed up he was a parseltongue and all? And what did "power" mean but "soul?"

Death Scenes

And yeah, did it annoy anyone else that the death scenes were a bit... truncuated? With a single sentence given to the death of character who had been pivotal/popular/et cetera?

Um... yeah, LHT: A) Potthead is not an insult, it's the word I use for anyone obsessed with Potter. B) You are obsessed, in the same way that you're obsessed with Fable, or apparently Tolkien, or anything else you like. The same way I am with many books and books in general. OCD is merely, in this context, a way of saying that you have an intense focus on the books. C) I was merely citing a single example of a contradiction, instead of going all obsessive and picking out each and every one I could find.

In fact, you may be right. But then again, this is a Harry Potter thread...what do you want me to talk about, something that you want to hear? Because hey, i'm all ears.

Second, and maybe most importantly, I love to make long posts. I'm not going to lie, and i'm certainly not going to insult you on that matter. Since this was a spoiler thread, I put spoilers in my review. Make sense...

Um... I don't want you to talk about anything else-- I'm just saying why I don't like it, and commenting on why you said you did... And yeah, long-windedness is fun... didn't you see MY post here? Or some of my others, for that matter? I wasn't being critical. And I wasn't taking exception to your review, just saying that it read as more of a summary, and that the tone was intensely... supportive, to try to come up with another word, of Potter/Rowling.

But there's a fine line between intelligence and ignorance. First off, you insulted me, which i'm fine with. OCD? Pothead? Go ahead. See if I care. But truthfully, it's a bit unintelligent

Um... just taking issue with the first line, because I am OCD about semantics (and I already commented on the "insults"), there is not a fine line between intelligence and ignorance, there's a gaping chasm. Ignorance means "lack of knowledge." Though intelligence is often associated with "having lots of knowledge," technically that's not what it means-- it refers to thinking ability. And no, insulting is not unintelligent-- it's asshole-y. And yes, I am often an asshole.

Hey, I have to admit, I was obsessed with the HP series. Haha, i'm not mad. Same way I was with Tolkien (I gotta say, I was and still am more fond of Tolkien). Would both of the authors be on the same boat? In level of popularity, yes. In terms of brilliant literature, I wouldn't say so. But seeing as this is a Harry Potter thread, I couldn't resist putting my fingers on the keyboard and fleshing out some thoughts ;)

Intense focus on the books? Hell yea! Books like LOTR, Harry Potter, etc (a whole list is waiting if you want to know more...which I'm guessing you don't)

Furthermore, I agree with you about the deaths. Fred Weasley had just one sentence for him...and I found that a bit annoying. I couldn't even find out how he died. In relation, Rowling never described how the characters reacted to those deaths. It's just like they're one dimensional figures in that matter.

But you know, past all the mistakes and dislikes, I thought this book was a suitable ending for the series.
