Hot on the heels of rumors of a new title in the first-person franchise, Warner Bros. has made F.E.A.R. 3 official. The shooter is scheduled to release this fall on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Freaky devil child Alma is back once again, along with "Point Man," the protagonist from the original F.E.A.R., and even the villainous Paxton Fettel. While the single-player campaign tasks players with controlling Point Man once again, a new "divergent co-op" mode allows a second player to take control of Fettel. The press release also notes that F.E.A.R. 3 will feature "an evolved cover system."

F.E.A.R. 3 is being developed by Day 1 Studios, the developer behind the console ports of the original F.E.A.R. as well as the more recent Fracture. Warner Bros. has also enlisted the help of horror director John Carpenter and writer Steve Niles (30 Days of Night). Niles co-wrote the script for the game, while Carpenter "provided his expertise in crafting the in-game cinematics."

And yes, it's been confirmed that the game's logo is, in fact, F.3.A.R., officially opening the door for its inevitable sequel: F.E.4.R.

PC originals were good, F.E.A.R 2 wasnt as good as original. Hope F.3.A.R can capture the genuine creepiness of the original.

I have just bought Fear 1 and 2.
I started out with Fear 1 just for the storyline but than i got to scared to play further (on mission 2)
And I finished Fear 2 in like 2 days because it wasnt really creepy because that little Alma doesnt show up to much only the older Alma. And the only thing about her is that she is ugly not scary. Maybe im gonna play Fear 1 some more today

F.3.A.R cant wait to see what its like I enjoyed the 1st one but the second was not as creepy as the 1st still enjoyable though F.E.A.R is creepy as hell when your playing it at night

Thanks for trailer.

tbh I enjoyed FEAR 2 more than the first... the graphics felt too much like half life 1 in FEAR. I finished the 2nd one 2 or 3 times, quite enjoyed it... but I'm no big fan of fear, so I can't say much.

But I am looking forward to the third one. as well as fable 3 :blush:

F.E.A.R 1 was a big disappointment to me. The first few chapters are indeed infamously scary, but after that it plays like an average shooter if you ask me.

I didn't like F.E.A.R 2 because it wasn't F.E.A.R, it was very fun and sometimes creepy, but it wasn't First Encounter Assault Recon.
