Final Fantasy XIII-2

I'd hit that like the curled tentacle of an angry Elder God.

Another really neat aspect is that you can reset events. What this means is that any part of the game you have completed, you can literally turn back the clock and replay those moments of the game again (without losing any character progress). This is really cool when there was a particularly powerful enemy you had to avoid at first because it outclassed you so, only to replay the event and kick its ass and see how differently events play out because you took a different path.

Thats an interesting concept and one that has irritated me in some games, having to replay entire games to make a different choice or take a different route to witness different things.

Just about every area you visit has NPC's that can be talked too. There are also no save points; the game auto-saves and you can manually save from the pause menu.

... Oh my god..

You don't know how happy that actually makes me.

As for shopping, Chocolina is following you around the game. She's your shop.

As for breaks in the story, you have Serendipity, an area similar to the Golden Saucer in FFVII. You can even take Chocobo's you've captured in the wild and race them!

You know what, that's good enough for me. I'm sold, thanks Tyloric.

Now I just need to put some money to the side.

Yeah I think most games should have it so that you can save from the menu at will, finding save points when you have to leave the house quickly or when the game crashes between them etc is a pain.

But if the game crashes, the ability to save from the menu wouldn't help you.

No but I have a habit of saving before I do anything major in games and save often. Games with checkpoints have a habit of having a 45min to an hour space between save points and the game normally crashes when one is on the horizon.

Also, monsters are your third party member. The only playable characters are Serah, Noel, and which ever monster you've added to your Battle Team. Each monster has its own role (one of the six from FFXIII) and can level up like a character would. You can infuse monsters with others to compound their abilities, and teach monsters skills they wouldn't normally learn on their own.

There are occasionally guests that fight with you (Snow follows you around a particular area in the game), but they're few and far between.

Damn... this means I actually have to beat FFXIII now doesn't it? The sequal is starting to sound like it's overall just better in every single possible way. Sofar from what I've played of FFXIII, which admittedly isn't very much at all, I just like Sahz. He's very uch a realist and I like that. I like Snow too but he's so single track mind, understandably so but still. Again I haven't played enough of FFXIII to really be a good judge, can anyone tell me how the characters get better? Avoiding spoilers if you can but I already know they save Serah otherwise she wouldn't be one of the MC's for the second game X3

I wanna play FFXIII but I need to know if I'll be able to tolerate or possibly even like any of the main characters. Especially Hope, he bothers me.

^^ Smiley Progression for the games and how I feel about them.

FF7, while I dislike it's following very much and was COMPLETELY uninteresting for me, I will admit was cool. FF8, while I've NOT played the whole thing was very enjoyable for the most part of what I got to play (rented the game, not enough time to play that bitch) FFIX was amazing and seriously under looked. FFx was far too easy and Tidus needs to get a new voice actor or I'm playing the game on Mute. (Shuyin could kick Tidus's ass.) And then I'm not even ganna get started on the rest of them, or how much FFXIII sucked ass, balls, and ****. FFXIII was all about visuals, and nothing to do with story line or plot. I couldn't get interested in ANY character (no matter how sexy lightening is, a personality can make a person ugly) Not to mention was EXTREMELY linear, and I like good old fashioned level ups thank you VERY MUCH.

And I'm not even sure I could deal with FFXIII, though if I remember the trailer it didn't look AS BAD as the one before it.

I'm nearing the end of XIII-2.

Apparently there are multiple endings.

And it ends in a To be continued screen.

LAWL XIII-3

That is 100% true. And it is the best game ever.

I want to pick up XIII-2 but I'm a bit iffy about it. I get paid today so I may pick it up on the way home.. Damn, time to check some reviews.

I hate that. Multiple ending but only ONE is going to be canon unless they do that well enough for the 3rd game.

An no one has told me if the characters of XIII get any better. I need to know before I attempt to play it once more.

That was the best Video I've ever seen.

THAT ENDING.... WAT? WAT??? WAAAAAT?!

So, yeah. Expect no resolution in this game. :|

They all change a little. Lightning becomes less of just a cold hearted b*tch, Hope gets over himself, Vanille grows a dark side and Fang is just awesome all the time. The other two either become more serious or chill out a lil. And this is my own observation. Whether these are considered improvements on your part, is up to you.

No that seems like improvements. They LEVEL out which is important. Also Vanille is just strange.

So basically Sahz just stays Sahz right? Cuz I like him just fine.

Slight spoilers ahead

Fang, Vanille and Sazh aren't really in the game. The three really just appear as cameos.

Lightning, Snow and Hope all have heavy plot significance.

Heavier spoilers ahead

Snow's story arch actually isn't resolved entirely: he's obviously going to have at least a minor influence in XIII-3.

No more spoilers.

As for the multiple endings I mentioned, I was both right and wrong. Yes, there is one true canonical ending. However, after completing the game, you can go back through to certain areas of the game and unfold events in a slightly different way. This will unlock a 'Paradox Ending'; a possibility that could have occurred had the story taken a different path. They're really just something fun and unlocking all of them is actually quite a challenge.

Got the game today for Xbox (they didn't have anymore PS3 copies) and so far I'm enjoying it. The story isn't all that interesting and the characters are really corny, but the gameplay is fun. The visuals are lovely and even though I heard the soundtrack already, hearing it again in combination with the environments is really nice.

I like it better than XIII though and can honestly say I don't regret the purchase

Yay! :D

I'd play it.

But I get confused and angry when I play games where the male casts are actually prettier than the female cast....

BUT THEY'RE NOT.

In fact, with the exception of Snow, the entire male cast is average/bad looking.

Oh, and guys with in armor with their faces covered. Cause I'm a sucker for a man in uniform.
